The best of Argyll's pub scene, with stunning views of World famous "Gulf of Corryvrecken" from inside and from the terrace garden. The local whiskey and gin menu here will be tough to beat anywhere in the World. Plus the beer, wine, champagne and other spirit selections are pretty good too. The Lord of the Isles is located in the village of Craobh Haven (between Kilmartin & Arduaine).
Living in stunning Craobh Marina throughout the year, I have enjoyed the LOTI's simply delicious winter and summer menus, offered both in the restaurant and in the dog friendly bar. I particularly enjoy the Lord of the Isles' local fresh seafood, gormet haggis, highland steaks and super delicious desserts to die for.
With the LOTI's full childrens menu, the games room is always popular with families, which also doubles up as a live jamming area, with guitars provided for everyone to play.
There are TVs in the bar and games areas, which are popular whenever there's rugby on. The local nautical artwork on display is cool too!
Absolutely love this warm, welcoming and award winning vibe, created by new owners Molly and Will. They have created a fabulous gastro-pub, together with a venue for some really talented musical artists. Check out their music listings and expect class acts ranging from foot tapping folk to live jazz!!! Oh, did I forget to mention their seasonal party events? Recommend checking updates on Facebook...
Expect to love the LOTI... Enjoy a wee dram, savour a delicious menu and connect at fabulous events, while being stunned by its Craobh Marina views...
Read moreIf I could give this lovely place more than 5 stars, I would. I can honestly say it was the best pub experience I have had, ever! It is in a truly beautiful location, and the sun shone, but the service from the staff outshone even the weather as it was outstanding. Attention to detail and genuine good old customer service, was refreshing to find. Add to this making our dog feel so welcome too you could be thinking..ah but was the food any good? Well, we had the sea food platter and it was the finest I have ever eaten. Our son had a great burger and fries, and we all enjoyed various puddings of chocolate brownies, sticky toffee pudding and lemon tart, all washed down with large Cappuccino's and it was all top notch! The dog was made a fuss of by staff and visitors alike, and given treats and water as a courtesy. The toilets were the most spotless of any pub I have been in as well. This place won awards in 2016/17 and whilst there may have been a hiccup recently (not sure of the reasons so can't comment) the current team have got this place back up and running in a very short space of time, and they deserve all the success from that hard work in the future. I really hope they win the pub of the year 2021. I just wish we could have booked to spend a week in that pub, then boxed it up to take home to Surrey with the views too! My advice..add this place to your bucket list, and go there soon...you...
Read moreWe found the Lord of the Isles disappointing. We were at Craobh marina for 3 nights sheltering from the weather so used the pub a few times. Location is great good decor and a good range of drinks. The lady behind the bar (manager?) was sullen/stressed as if she really didn't want to be there and that reflected in her attitude to customers. We booked a table 24 hours prior but when we arrived we were told that the pub was now closing in 30 minutes so we would have to rush! (We had checked and been told it was open all day). As for the food - the mussels were good but portion on the small side for £19, the small fish looked and tasted like a Birds Eye frozen fish and was disappointing, the burger plainly presented (rushed) and a little boring. The linked shop showed similar values - it will be open at 11:00, then at 11:00 we're not opening until 12:00. When it did open poor stock and little choice. Next day we walked over to Ardfern for better service,...
