This review is based on my visit today. I normally come here and never have a problem in fact your loaded bread is to die for. My partners lamb today was outstanding as always but it was a bad experience for me. I was so excited when i seen you had the award winning Cullen skink, my absolute favourite. The pictures looked amazing. One of them showed pieces of salmon on the top and some sort of bon bon .... my mouth was watering. Guys thats not what i got today !!!! The first photograph is wht i thought i was coming for and at £10 for a bowl of this soup £10 !!! You can see what i actually got in the other photographs. Not one single piece of fish to be seen anywhere in my bowl and it was the consistency of water. I actually stopped eating it half way through as it was like trying to drink a bowl of water with a spoon. I had no fish apart from a few flakes at the bottom so when your guy asked if i enjoyed it i told him it was very watery. He just laughed and my partner told him it certainly didn't look the picture and again he just brushed it off. My lunch cost me almost £50 today and always is that and above when we come but that was not good today especially after i did say something. Such a shame but at that price i'll be going somewhere else now. Gutted.

The Pickled Peacock is great! We stopped by for some breakfast and had some amazing skillets. The service is prompt and the staff is very friendly. The hot drinks are delicious. However, it's a steep extra for non dairy alternatives. The breakfast options all sound delicious. We went with the Gaucho and the Tatties skillet. While the Tatties was well served and full of flavour, I thought the Gaucho let me down. There are tiny few bites of chorizo and over lots of black pudding. It was delicious, nonetheless, but I thought it was going to be more chorizo based. The fizzy options are really good, I recommend the grapefruit one. They also have a selection of baked goods, it was hard to choose! Overall, it was a nice experience. The ambience is fantastic! Love the decorations.

Incredible gluten free breakfast. All the meats served are gluten free and they even had a gluten free flatbread for me. I opted for the polony hash and it was incredible. The portion was very generous! My partner had a sandwich with the beef square sausage and loved it also. The atmosphere inside is lovely such cool decor and some nice background music too. The staff were so friendly and very helpful with my allergen order. Could not recommend enough especially for any celiacs looking for some great grub. What a spot! If you’re in the area it is well worth the visit.

Calling in for a restorative coffee this morning, mid-way through our motorcycle trip, my wife and I were immediately put at our ease by a welcoming and friendly response, so much so that we decided to extend our coffee break into an early lunch, and I'm very glad we did. The generous helping of Lorne sausage, served in a delicious warmed roll was the best I've ever tasted. The coffee itself was so good I had to have a second cup to bed down the sausage. My wife opted for the link sausage which she tells me was also of a similarly high standard. Thank you Pickled Peacock - you made my day. We look forward to repeating the experience...
