On the hunt for cute cafes with amazing drives and views? Look no further, we have a belter here on Loch Katrine just under an hour and a half from Glasgow.
With a beautiful drive to the cafe with stunning views, some great walks in the area. Or if you are feeling energetic, park at the opposite side of the loch and hire some bikes and cycle round to the cafe for your lunch and work it off on the way back.
Food here is made fresh to order and they have a great selection or sandwiches, jacket potatoes, hot meals and pizzas. Offering a selection of local drinks and coffee from one of our fave roasters @thomsonscoffee
We visited on a BH Monday, and the place was busy, we had a wait on food, and the staff were under pressure, but they did amazing to try and keep it together and get everyone served
This was our second visit here, and we find the cafe spacious inside with views of the loch with additional tables out the front, and then in the garden, there are picnic benches for the nicer days. The staff are great and the food is tasty
Or you can be really clever and plan your trip with a day out on the Sir Walter Scott...

Read moreIn a beautifully remote and tranquil setting, the Pier Café is wonderful place to have a breakfast, a lunch, an early dinner, or just sit and while away the afternoon with a couple of local beers. We stayed in Stronachlachar for a week recently, and our family of five absolutely loved the Pier Cafe.
The food is top-notch and it is clear that it’s made with care. The business is family run and we were always made to feel welcome here. I loved that the beers served were from the nearby Loch Lomond brewery.
There’s a café dog who was often wandering around, and our dog was always made as welcome as we were. If you’re not a doggy sort, don’t worry, she always kept herself to herself.
This café helped make our stay in Scotland truly memorable. There’s nothing quite like sitting beside the loch, surrounded by breath-taking scenery, enjoying local food with your family, whilst being looked after by a set of people who are as passionate about the location as their...
