This pub has such an interesting history that we couldn't resist going there for dinner, even though it was far from our B&B. We wanted to immerse ourselves in history, in contact with the locals, as we always do during our travels.
Of course, it's a pub, so it tends to be NOISY... especially on weekends. But it was so noisy that we couldn't hear each other!
But the worst thing was the food, which we frankly expected to be cooked to perfection, given that these were traditional dishes! We had Fish&Chips and "Monkfish Scampi". Now, the first question that springs to mind is: what does monkfish have to do with scampi?! They are two completely different things! Apart from that, however, and we are really sorry to have to say this... neither dish was cooked with the RESPECT that these creatures (and we diners) deserve :-( unless we were completely drunk...
