Wasn't sure what to make of this place. When we arrived there at about 7.15pm there were only a couple of cars in the huge car park, which didn't bode well. The decor reminded me of an old social club and when we walked through the door we were greeted by the stares of locals in the bar slowly chewing through their meals. A lots of the tables around the corner in the main restaurant bit were taken and the atmosphere was one of hushed friendly chatter. We grabbed a table, ordered at the bar and the food came really quickly. No messing. Great service and outstanding food!! My partner had steak pie- which was amazing, and I had poached salmon and veg, which was cooked to perfection with the most delicious buttery spring potatoes and a sauce to die for. Totally recommend this place!

Wow what a cute quaint pub, in the middle of no where! So welcoming especially the young lad behind the bar Lester who made us feel welcome, had a laugh & joke, food was amazing too!! . Actually made our two nights from hell (as we stayed in ben more lodge, with no hot water) amazing, that we went back the second night to celebrate my birthday & met some of the locals who made us feel really welcome & there he was again to make laugh! Thanks Lester you are amazing keep it. Oh & star says hi!!! (Our furry friend) . So if you are in this area pop into this amazing place!!! For 5* service.

Fantastic food in a rural setting. Great little find. Looks a little rough around the edges, but do not let that fool you! Amazing quality food at a reasonable price. I had the Scottish Ploughman's, and as you can see from the photo, that is not a little serving. Plus it was all extremely tasty! My girlfriend had a jacket potato, which was light & fluffy inside with a nice crispy skin. A good selection of beers & spirits, with an ok wine selection, but you are in the middle of the Scottish Highlands! If you are traveling anywhere nearby, definitely worth a stop!

My wife and I were halfway through the West Highland Way, on the 24th of August, when we decided to eat at the pub after it had been recommended to us. We both shared the haddock and steak pie.

On top of the service being apathetic and disdainful, we both fell to severe food poisoning, grounding us for 2 days, and crippling the rest of our vacation. Just to illustrate how bad it got, my wife suffered a syncope and was vomiting, unconscious, in the hotel room lobby of a nearby town we had to book last minute the following day.

It ended up costing us 17 pounds per person, a 15 pound taxi ride, 200 pounds for 2 lethargic nights in a hotel room, and of course the rest of our West Highland Way.

The Guinness was good...

It was Saturday night and there were only 3 staff on covering the bar, tables and kitchen so they were pretty stretched. That being said we got a table with ease (although it was quite busy), you order at the bar and the food came out fast enough. We both had the venison burgers that came with salad and fries and was a large portion and very tasty. No room for dessert. Slightly lacking in ambiance but price (just over £30 with 2 soft drinks) and food was good. There is parking right outside. Be aware they stop taking food orders at about 7:45 (maybe even a little earlier than this) so make sure you arrive in time with...
