First time we have eaten here. We had gone over to have lunch at the Mariners as we love it there but even though it said it was open when we checked the times when we got there it was closed. No idea why as also said on the door it should have been open. Anyway went to the Ship which was very busy. The two ladies that served us were nice and even brought a treat for the dogs. The place itself has been done up and it's very nice inside and lovely and clean. I had the seafood platter and it was nice but I was expecting home cooking and what I got I used to buy frozen from a supermarket (I may be wrong but they looked and tasted exactly the same) so was disappointed. My partner had a burger and that was ok. Nothing wrong with the food I just can't mark it higher for what we had. When we are next up we may call in and get something different as could just be what we had. NOTE: I am replying to a comment back. I don't think I've left a complaint I've just noted my experience. The reason I left a review is because I do that for places I visit (see lots of my other reviews) as do a lot of people. If you read the review fully you will also see I mentioned what I liked and I was just disappointed in my own meal. I of course understand that any food place wouldn't want waste I just wasn't expecting the seafood to be all frozen as it's not my experience of other places like The Mariners and Tigh Na Mara just 2 villages further along, and with the pub being opposite the sea expected fresh. Like I said originally it was ok so I don't feel the need to...

We came across this little gem by chance whilst on a day trip exploring the South East Rhin Coast. Quite busy for a tiny village and seemed popular with pleasant locals. We arrived late lunch and ordered three meals (2 light lunches and a burger meal) and drinks. Unknown to us the kitchen had closed by the time we had finished our meals but the lovely landlady didnt want to leave us disappointed with no desserts so she very kindly went and made desserts for us. Our meals were tasty and great value! We really enjoyed the cosy friendly atmosphere and the sense of humour of the landlords who were really enthusiastic about ensuring the patrons visits were an enjoyable one. Will definitely visit again when in the area! Located near New England Bay, Port Logan Beach, Port Logan Fish Pond & Luce Bay. Pop in you won't be...
