The Square Kintore — Restaurant in Scotland

Came here for supper and found that it was a nice small place, we ordered chicken fillets, when it came there were only 3 chicken fillets, a basket of chips and a small salad, lettuce and a pickle radish or something. When asked about the slaw we were told it was asian slaw, the menu didn't say asian slaw with the fillets. Thought the portion was a bit small like a child's portion. After we were finished there was a family came in next to us and they ordered fillets, the portion was larger and there was a propr salad. Had to ask for the dessert menu, was never offered it from staff, the sticky toffee was OK, not the best. It was like there wasn't consistency with any of the portions. Very noisy! Yes, it was a Saturday night and the pub was very busy with a footlball team celebrating loudly, to be expected but still not great. But the bathroom taps sound like a plane is flying over and that comes from neighbouring rooms too. When the main door is opened, our bedroom door would make a sudden bang which adds to the anxiety of trying to sleep at The Square. No shampoo or shower gell in the shower, easy to get caught out with that if you're used to staying in other hotels!

Albeit, it's the kind of place that you want to like, and I'm sure on a weekday, it'd be fine - but it's not a place for light sleepers...

I have not given answers to a lot of your questions, simply because I was visiting along with a few of my Cousins to listen to Our Cousin Dave Bremner performing in the Bar. Had a really enjoyable evening. My other Cousins did partake of a meal earlier in the evening in your Restaurant, I did not, they gave me a decent report on food & service. As far as I'm concerned We will all be back in the future. Obviously we are a bit biased, but Dave will tell you we are honest in our "ratings" & we all did enjoy Dave Bremners performance.
