The Stags Pavilion has been booked solid, but due to a cancelation I and my SO were able to reserve a table. During this trip to the Isle of Arran, I was able to try venison for my first and second time. My second being at the Stags Pavilion. It started slightly warm and chewy, though my second bite was cold. The meat was clearly cooked all the way through. This leads me to believe it was cooked beforehand and reheated. My SO's lamb dish was even colder. The staff said they would bring us a brand new dish. My SO's dish sadly was a little too fatty. I still believe that the venison was reheated as there was a charred part that I normally see with reheated food. The choice of menu is excellent and the food tastes wonderful. Considering how good it was I was shocked when I got the bill....it is VERY reasonably priced indeed. I had the lamb which had been slow cooked and (I would say) reheated, which came with peas which were almost brown, and very soft veg partly covered in some kind of white sauce. My parents found their meals a bit oily and bland.
