I and a small group of friends decided to visit for breakfast one morning. We arrived just before 11am, and were promptly seated. Upon us sitting down, a member of staff informed us that the full breakfast was unavailable. A bit disheartened, we ordered the breakfast roll with various fillings. As we were sat eating our rolls, more customers were coming in and having their meals served to them. It was at this point we noticed they were being served the full breakfast, which rather puzzled us.
Upon questioning, other members of staff were confused as we should’ve had the breakfast made available to us. We then got up to pay, which was taken by the first member of staff. We questioned him and to say that he was rude was an understatement. Talking over the female members of our group, condescending, and insinuating that we were somehow lying; all the while avoiding giving us an explanation as to why this had happened. How anyone working in his line of work thinks it’s acceptable to act the way he does is shocking, and frankly horrendous.
We paid and left, vowing that we wouldn’t be back. Another member of staff followed us outside and explained that this wasn’t the first time he had done this, and he does it because he simply cannot be bothered.
It’s a shame. The food was delightful and all other staff were brilliant, but it was let down by one person. This hasn’t even been the first time that we’ve had an experience like this with him. How can someone expect customers to return if they are treated in such a manner? It’s the one bad thing about a great place, but frankly it is something that puts people...
Read moreI have visited today from Glasgow for the second time because we loved the cafe and beautiful landscapes. Cafe is at a great location, food is fine too but one of the person who was taking order is absolutely rude. He didn't give us enough time to think about our order and in a haste I might have forgotten to give my order properly, when called again he was very rude about a dish that was new to me because I am from different country, he said very loudly in a tone which was insulting as if I made i am stupid!!! Everything is amazing but just for this reason, I wont be coming here again. Absolutely disrespectful to speak to someone like that!
Note- Few minutes = 30 secs for you Tom, as you still seem to not take it as a feedback but you must allow enough time to people to decide on their order so that they do not end up wasting their money, travelling long just to come to your cafe! I think my decision is well thought of and your arrogance clearly tells that one must definitely think before they come to your cafe!!
Also since you said that when you kindly allowed us few minutes, you might as well remember that when you came to our table, I asked my husband whether he is ready and he said no but despite that it felt as if you are in so much hurry to take the order and I felt pushed to order something right away!! Please put the facts right if you...
Read moreTook my father here for his birthday breakfast which turned into a lunch due to this establishment finishing breakfast at 12pm.
We took our 3 month old with us so a table of 4 turned to a table of 5 as the little ones car seat took a chair as she slept comfy in the cafe.
All of the waiting staff came over and had a peak and complemented us on the baby. One staff member stuck out, Jackie, while we ordered the food Jackie came over and asked when the baby woke up to shout on her, when she woke up Jackie was over and got a cuddle from the baby and took her around speaking to the customers while we ate our delicious coronation chicken & cheese toasties and I got the Atlantic prawn and chorizo spaghetti pasta special (which was 10/10).
What am getting at even though the food was tasty and the bundage was awesome, the service was outstanding. Upon paying the bill Jackie removed everything my father had for food and drink for his birthday treat
The waiting staff all had a great laugh together and you can see there is an amazing vibe in the cafe, if your looking for somewhere to go eat please come here and enjoy everything this place has to offer.
I'll definitely be back before 12pm in the future to try there breakfast. This is a hidden gem of a place in perth.
Thank you Willowgate Cafe Team for making our brunch experience unforgettable.
