A large group of us stopped off here for breakfasts on the way home from Aberfeldy. Thankfully they were able to accept a short notice booking. The bistro is set in a picturesque location with beautiful surrounding gardens with plenty of wildlife and farm animals in the vicinity. A lovely spot. Not only do they have a restaurant inside but also a nice farm shop selling all sorts of local produce. I ended up getting some quince jam which I thought was a bit unusual but I quite enjoyed. I also got some cheese, honey and marmalade which were very nice. After getting the goodies we were seated for breakfast. They donât have an exhaustive menu but enough to cater for most diets. A lot of the party went for the full Scottish but I liked the sound of the chilli cheese sourdough toast with fried eggs and masala beans. I also asked for an added sausage which they allowed. I felt the fried eggs were a bit overcooked as there was no runny yolk. The sausage, beans and toast were nice and it was overall an enjoyable dish. My wife had a sausage and egg roll which went down the hatch well. One member of the party is a pescy and so she went for the veggie full Scottish. The waitress informed us what was included as it wasnât mentioned on the menu. When the dish came, the veggie haggis wasnât included, because they had apparently ran out, so they substituted it with extra veggie sausage. We were a little disappointed that the waitress didnât let us know this prior to serving as my sister may have wanted to change her order. The veggie breakfast wasnât particularly special anyway. Others in the party seemed to have enjoyed their breakfast. I believe the French toast was praised highly. Overall, we had a nice experience. Lovely location and setting, which was comfortable and relaxing. Good farm shop and a satisfactory breakfast, although a little expensive. Staff were...
Read moreOn arriving your not only greeted by attentive wonderful staff but also glorious views of the surrounding countryside. A window as you enter the premises give you a peek in to the kitchen which looked immaculate. I would certainly recommend requesting a table at the windows as the views on both sides are stunning, one side looking out over the hills and the other side looking on to the well maintained gardens. An extensive drinks menu with a few non alcoholic beers was good as I imagine like us most would require a car to get here. The menu was really varied with dishes from Africa, Mexico and Scotland. There was no starters however I'm sure a main shared between 2 would make a good starter. We opted to share the warm bread and oil and it was delicious, 3 verieties of breads paired with an oil that had hints of apricot. The mains we ordered were well presented and the lamb skewer that I had was juicy and bursting with flavour although it was a little hard to eat without making a full of myself đ. Staff were pleasant and regularly checked in on us. The cheesecake was lovely. On leaving passing the kitchen the chef's gave us a pleasant wave goodbye and must have spotted us trying to take a selfie so came out and offered to take a photo of us with the stunning views behind. I would thoroughly recommend Thyme and it's well worth the effort to get to if staying a little...
Read moreWe booked afternoon tea đ« here as a special treat for my Mum. You enter via the well stocked delicatessen which is full of locally sourced goodies. The setting of Errichel is beautiful with real attention to detail inside which makes for a wonderfully relaxing place to sit, take in the views and enjoy great food. We had vegetarian options for the sandwiches and nut free cakes for my daughter. The scones and cakes are baked in house and are amazing with truly excellent service from the staff who were a pleasure to talk to. This place is a real gem in Highland Perthshire and I would encourage anyone looking for the best of Scotland to...
