Tide & Thyme — Restaurant in Scotland

We were starving and had no where to eat. I rang and asked for a table for three. They said yes, result as we were around the corner and turned up 5 minutes later. It's not a big place and from the outside we were thought we would get a light bite or sandwiches. How wonderfully wrong we were. Garlic Prawns for starters yum. Followed by the most buttery baked Sea Bass with potatoes, asparagus and green beans. Truly beautiful. Zar went for the medallions of pork served with black pudding, crushed potatoes and brocoli stems, amazing. Our wee monster had and I quote the best breaded fish and chips ever. Can't recommend this...

Went for a ride on my motorbike and popped in for some cake and apple juice. Very nice!

If popping in for breakfast or lunch then no reservation needed but if you're looking for dinner then probably best to ring ahead.

Other than the cake I didn't sample anything else but the menu did look good including veggie and vegan options.

Did pop back the following day with my wife but it wasn't open yet (Sunday) although I thought it should have been open by the time we got there so it might be worth checking by phone if you're coming from any distance.

Staff friendly. Lunch on arrival fine. Dinner good and breakfast very good. However, our would be quiet night away was a utter nightmare due to the groups of guests partying loudly and argumentatively in adjoining room right thru to 6am ..in fact the scum were staggering about middle of road when we were checking out at 11am. We thought better of challenging then due to our age and their aggressiveness. Partying in rooms should NEVER be...
