I have been to this cafe a few times and have always been impressed by the lovely staff and even better food. Our visit today did not leave this impression. Staff were rude and argued openly over who would serve our table after we had been sitting for close to 20 minutes with no service, the staff then continued to bicker about who would do what job next. After ordering we were informed the food is all cooked fresh so it can take a little longer than normal as I had ordered a chicken burger with salad and my husband had ordered two filled rolls. After ordering we waited for roughly 25 minutes, the filled rolls were tasty and great value for money. The chicken burger-well honestly I feel like they committed daylight robbery. The plain unseasoned chicken was served on a wet roll with salad, and way too much burger/pickle tasting sauce. The chicken itself was around 12 grams worth and for almost £10 for that meal I feel they have seriously over valued that meals worth. The salad was unfortunately also drowning in a bitter tasting dressing.

Overall, the staff who were working really let this lovely place down apart from one lovely lady who made an effort to maintain the positive interactions we had previously enjoyed. So essentially if you are going, clarify what you are actually paying for to avoid disappointment and the staff team would highly benefit from customer interaction training asap. 😔...

Decided to pop in to the Touchdown at The Madhouse Coffeeshop for a few sweet treats to take away after hearing some mixed reviews.

Previously visited the Madhouse Bakery in Woodside many times and always loved the wide selection of handmade cakes, traybakes and scones available.

Warm welcome upon arrival and asked if takeaway was available which the lady confirmed they could accommodate but don’t advertise so price are the same as sitting in. The cake and bakery selection on offer was ok, nothing exciting. Also, nothing was labelled so very hard to tell what each item was and if they contained any allergens without asking for assistance. We finally decided on the banoffee slice and raspberry and white chocolate traybake. The lady boxed the items up in a plastic brown burger box, no cardboard cake containers which would have been more presentable, then confirmed the price…£5.80. As we were taking away, felt the price was a little high!

Rating is only based on takeaway experience however the restaurant did look very busy with almost every table full which is a positive. It was a Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm so would advise anyone planning a future visit to...

So this was a late booking for a party of 3 adults. Parking is pretty restricted with around 20 or so spaces serving a few businesses. On arrival we were seated quickly but then nothing for about 20 minutes till our order was taken. Fairly simple order of Coffee, juices, large breakfast and a couple of baked potatoes. The restaurant was busy and hearing yourself speak was an effort. Coupled with children playing with a piano at the side of you...I just don't see why it's even there. When the food eventually arrived it looked ok, nothing startling but the quality was fairly decent. The breakfast is served in a frying pan!!!, again, why?. I want my food on a plate..not a frying pan that's sliding all over the table as you try to cut your food. The baked potatoes and breakfast were luke warm at best. If it wasn't for the wait we already had, the food would have went straight back. I think this business has got certain bits right but you need to get the basics right first. Serve the food hot..serve the food on plates, cut out the fancy gimics and please get rid...

Only pop in with the wee one as we was passing, I got an tea and wee one had an ice cream. Was clean and bright. What we had was ok. Staff seem nice enough only reason I'm not given 5 star was I only had two items but 3 was put in til, one was only 30p but I didn't know what that was for.... Maybe an service charge or card charge but would of been nice to be told what it was for. šŸ’ We will come back to get breakfast, seems an nice place.

Very good food. I had the all-day breakfast, my partner had a chicken and bacon panini. Both were filling without being too much, and were reasonably priced. Herbal tea, supplied by Suki Teas, was lovely. The cafƩ is very eclecticly fitted out - everywhere you look there's a conversation starter, from the joke on the notice board outside the door, to the mouse holes on the skirting boards. We'll definitely be back here again!
