Unfortunately we left feeling really disappointed despite the food being great.

Myself and my partner visited the pub for some food and drinks during our honeymoon road trip across the Hebrides. From the moment we walked in we felt very unwelcome. It honestly felt that the older of the two woman working this evening inexplicably disliked us being there. More confusing, the table of overseas tourists seated next to us got a very pleasant and welcoming service, at complete odds with the service we received. Even when the staff member kept checking on the other table, we were ignored?

We finished our drinks during our meal but were never asked if we would like any more nor how our food was. It’s was some 20 minutes after we finished eating where we initially hoped for more drinks, that we had to actively call the other staff member to ask for the bill, since it was apparently clear the waiting staff didn’t want us to hang around.

A real pity as we looked forward to a...

Always consistently good here.

Had internal debate with myself - 1.) starter or dessert as I knew I wouldn't manage both. Dessert won. 2.) Steak or Lobster, it came down to the wire but the peppercorn sauce and onion rings as additional selling points tipped the balance for the steak.

Steak was beautifully cooked to medium rare as requested, the onion rings were flaky and crispy and just spot on, the tomatoes juicy, the sauce was lovely -creamy and flavourful, the chips were chunky as they should be with steak. Overall superb.

Choux bun filled with raspberry cream was stunning visually and in taste, and I didn't feel like I'd eaten entirely too much at the end which is often the downfall of many a great dessert.

Really enjoyed our meal here. My only criticism and it's a stretch and probably petty to say it is I wish there were other red wines by the glass other...

Visited this amazing pub twice yesterday.Stopped off for a pint and a perfect cup of tea yesterday afternoon with our two dogs on the way to the nearby Sollas village and fantastic beach (you must visit). We booked a table for the early evening and returned back to the pub after an amazing time at Sollas.Dogs are more than welcome in the pub,the pub owners and staff are so welcoming,as so are the locals we were chatting to.An excellent choice of local ales, and the food we ordered was perfectly cooked and all local fresh ingredients. We will definitely be visiting this gem of a place on our next visit to the North Uist. Thank you all at the Westford Inn,you should all be proud of yourselves for your...

The booking process - fab, really easy to use and can book 90 days in advance. The food - also good, especially the scallops and black pudding for a starter/main. The pub atmosphere… having read some of the comments on here I tried to take them with a pinch of salt but having experienced it myself I think the word would be awkward. Compared to other places we visited the whole thing felt forced, I’m sure it wasn’t but this was just my impression. I would suggest a place that says they’re dog-friendly should provide water bowls as a minimum, I didn’t see any but this would make our dining pals also feel welcome. There’s very little choice in North/South Uist for food sadly.

Fabulous pub. Dog friendly, great beer garden and lots of parking available. You so need to book too. Food is very good, varied and a local twist. We had a crab & tomato crostini and the king prawn bhajis to start…. So tasty and fab. Mains were venison and cod scampi …. great dishes, full of flavour and plentiful .. outstanding. Staff are friendly and attentive, nice level .. we loved the pub, it’s great to sit in the sun having a beer, our dog loved it too… we found it easy to pop in during the afternoon but it got busy very quickly and lots of folks reserved, so I’d book in advance rather than just going for it.
