I have never written a review before but I am appalled by the lack of service or help when I came to The Harrington today and feel others need to be made aware of the rudeness of the manager. I arrived with my 2 young children and a friend, my son needed a nappy change upon arrival. I was told by a young waitress that I could use the disabled toilet but there was no changing table! I asked to use a chair so I could change my sons nappy before ordering food for 4 of us. I was then rudely “greeted” by the manager and told…”We do not accommodate for that here!” “I can offer you a piece of cardboard for the floor!“ and that “I could not use a chair for my baby, because it would be unhygienic for the customers!”. I am so taken aback by how I and my family was treated at this cafe. No apology, no suggestion to help and instead I was left completely insulted and made to feel like I was out of place by asking for somewhere to help my child. I will NEVER be coming back here again. They accommodate for dogs, disabled people but not for babies, how? I hope the manager thinks long and hard about her choices and actions towards me and my family today, and changes facilities at her cafe to help future customers...
Read morePolitely asked if my 2 year old child could use the toilet facilities as she is in the midst of potty training. I was going to sit in after and grab a coffee, however after asking I was rudely told no. I asked again since it's only for a small child. To which (I'm assuming is the manager) angrily replied 'we are not a public convenience, are you buying anything' Honestly it's just human decency to let a small child use a toilet. May I point out the whole point of toilet training is to not be in a nappy. That defeats the purpose. Do not question my abilities as a parent. I will happily mention that the lovely hairdressers down the street were kind enough to let her use theirs. Enjoy running a business solely based on profits and not decency. Regardless of if your food or service is great, your actual attitude and demeanour towards me were not. And that is what I...
Read moreHaringtons is a beautiful little cafe with wind-shielded outside space at the front and gorgeous sun-trap back garden too. We decided to sit inside and the seating is very comfy.
Beautiful high quality food, we were impressed! It is getting harder and harder to find excellent fresh cooked food in even so called high class eateries.
I had a gorgeous fluffy omelette with cheese and mushroom, with a gorgeous fresh salad my man had the full English, which was delicious- the bacon tasted like real butchers bacon and the mushrooms were divine too.
The staff are lovely, so attentive and helpful, I can't recommend this little place enough.
We loved it so much we bought some cake to take away too - which we ate later by the River Douglas in Rufford. A delightful afternoon in Formby, thank...
