Called in for our tea tonight and WOW! The atmosphere is amazing, Rob and his staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome! Shared a starter of Homemade Chicken and Mushroom pate ! 12/10! Very very tasty and beautifully presented. Wish I could take home the chutney with me!! Hubby had Sirloin Steak and all the trimming cooked to perfection! I had the Haddock and chips, the fish was again cooked to perfection and the batter was amazingly crispy, better than a fish and chip shop! The mushy peas and veg were fresh! Nothing frozen in sight!!! 18/10 for the whole experience!! Compliments to the Chef and the Landlord

What a super meal at The Miners Arms. First visit but certainly won't be the last. Very warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere. Food freshly cooked and huge portions. I had the daytime deal menu which is fantastic value for money. A great range of ales and happy to see non alcoholic cider as I was driving. Thankyou for the lovely welcome 😁😁

We went on a Saturday and had dinner. I had the gammon. The eggs weren’t good. The onion rings were in a batter which was very fatty/greasy. The chips and gammon were tasty. I had jam roly poly for dessert. This had been warmed up for too long which made some parts of it hard and dried up. Really nice pub. Portion sizes were large.

Went there to catch up with mates food was average or just below , the lasagne wasn't what i would call a lasagne tasted like it had lots of gravy in it not really what i would call a lasagne the bread was over microwaved and hard in middle i would have given 2 stars but the starter portion was big so that has been a plus but again the prawns been defrosted under running water there far prawn cocktails kinda lost its flavour as it all been washed off , the treacle pudding was great as it was home made but was bit burnt and slight dry if it wasnt for the custard then ... dont get me wrong wasnt the worst meal i had maybe if i had different choices on the menu my experience would have been different but unfortunately it wasn't also i feel like menu might be a bit big stick with what sells best and give all the attention to make something that people will be coming back for it or more instead having a lot to pick from but being so and so and not seeing new customers that keeps coming back .

Regards and all best for the...

Very disappointed ..... we booked for the Valentines evening special as we were attracted by the fabulous menu and at such good value, however the food didn't live up to the expectation of the menu unfortunately. The prawn starter wasn't nice at all - bland and tasteless. The salmon was so over cooked that a 1/3rd was inedible because it was burnt and dry. The steak was very fatty. All the meals including the veg had clearly been blasted in the microwave because they were volcanic temperatures and the delicious sounding deserts were very much like the prawn starter - it was all very disappointing and very average. They did make lovely chips and the staff were friendly and attentive. A few signs of Valentines on the tables - ie red hearts, dimmed lighting would have made the place more atmospheric - it was all very run of the mill tea in a pub, not a Valentines evening with...

Been here a few times and was always very happy with the staff and the service and the quality of food UNTIL yesterday 3rd August 2023 half way through our meal I found a very long white hair in my curry. The restaurant was very full so we called over the server so we could discreetly notify her of the problem. She apologised and said she would pass it on took away our plates then returned saying would you like a desert as a way of an apology ??? then said well we can take the price of 1 drink of the total outstanding. I don't know how I didn't stand up and shout just watch out for any extras in your meals to the rest of the diners Totally disgusted paid the bill and left we wont be eating here again or our friends Thank you but...
