Service was friendly and the shop was clean and modern. Unfortunately, the servings were stingy.

Food was nice enough, with a homely and comforting style. But it didn't standout or have any "x-factor".

The worst thing though is the meagre servings. The large lamb came with 5 small, bony chops. And the large chicken came with 5 tiny chicken wings. The rest was just padded out with rice.

The lamb was well cooked, but chicken was overcooked and dry. And seeing as though it was supposed to be a chicken STEW, there was barely any of the "rich, brown gravy" that it was advertised with.

I also expected more spice and exciting flavour. Whilst there was some complexity of flavour, it was all quite subtle.

Still nice, but when the menus says something is "spicy", I expect at least a bit of spice. Instead there was no detectable heat or strong spices at all.

Very expensive for the scabby little amount you get served - I ordered a large portion which cost £12 as a basic rice/peas and mutton - my mutton “the bit I did get” was fatty, grisly, boney and chewy and not cooked thoroughly enough at all - I also paid for extra sides of dumpling which was overcooked and plantain, and I only got three scabby little pieces of planting - a tin of pop also cost £1.50 I tried some stewed chicken as well, and that was nothing to shout home about

Really poor value all toll at £15.50

Overall, it was ALL SUB STANDARD rubbish food and I will not rush back if at all I ever order or eat from there again…..

My advice...

Paid nearly 40 quid for 2 meals. They were the mix box. Forgot the coleslaw that we paid for. The box was full of rice. Minimal meat and minimal juice. NEARLY 20 QUID A MEAL, FOR A LARGE BOX OF RICE, AND VERY LITTLE MEAT. CRAZY!! It was all very DRY. Didn't taste authentic at all. Not happy at all!!! Actually can't get over how much rice there was, compared to everything else! I'm gutted!!! Sick of going to these places, and them being less than unsatisfactory! If I want some curried mutton/chicken etc, I will just make it myself from now on. Mine blows these out...
