My Birthday surprise was a meal with all My friends and family.. in many ways was ruined by the embarrassment of the service and the food or lack of it. Where do I start !! Portion sizes were ludicrous across the board we were all still hungry after the main course.. the burgers were pretty basic with no trimmings and they had run out of burger buns so they were using gluten free ones which from experience being gluten free myself are a poor substitute .The salmon was probably the worst portion size just a small cup of rice served with the salmon and a leaf in a pudding bowl. Two thirds of the party had to change their choice of main course and puddings as they had run out . Service was also poor waiting for spoons after our pudding were bought up and having to remind them several times.Coffees were also cold. Overall they are charging top prices for very basic food. This pub seems to have taken a nose dive since I last went there in the summer and had a lovely Sunday Lunch. Basically we won’t be going back there in a hurry. Ashame as once it was a...

The barmen were happy to chat and served us quickly. My brother was pleased as he was able to get one of his favourite beers on tap.
The best bit for me? Seeing a dartboard, packs of playing cards and dominoes to play with.
As we left we realised there was a large beer garden out the back.
Will certainly be...
Read moreHad lunch with the U3AC walking group on 26th September, ordered Lentil Ratatouille for £9.50 and a pint of orange and lemonade. The bill came to £22.60 which I queried when paying but was told that was correct. (normally pay around £12 for lunch and this drink). On reviewing the menu prices at home I phoned up to speak to the manager who apologised and said their was a main course at £17.50 and they'd assumed that was what was ordered. He said he would issue a credit, well I provided my card details on more than one occasion and have called multiple times and have been promised a credit but nothing has materialised as at 23rd October. The price of the meal and a modest drink is extremely expensive. The U3AC won't be coming back and disappointed they are unable to keep...
