Great food, great service, great staff, great choice of food and drink. A proper community pub. A simplified menu so not bamboozled by choice, wine recommendations by the owner Nick are always the better option. Food is seasonal and expertly put together and cooked. There's no stuff on the plate that doesn't need to be there. Waiting staff are attentive and informative. Empty clear plates are always the sign of happy customers..our plates could have gone straight back in the cupboard!

A friendly community pub that has a good selection of Real Ales (pumps on the bar and American style on the wall/ beer menu board). Nice food. The pub is not much to look at from the outside, but they have really made an effort with activities (e.g. board games might) and live music. Dog friendly.

Fantastic & vibrant pub with great food & fun atmosphere. Friendly & very pleasant staff. Live music is often on too. Update. Popped in for a wonderful Sunday lunch the food was excellent & the Yorkshire Pudding was the best I've had this year.

Fish and chips. It's a great British institution. Once a fortnight, I order 2 portions to take away so that my house-bound father can enjoy what diners take for granted. He's 94, so his assessment is backed by decades of experience. He ate fish and chips when there was no fish. It was called a bag of chips. He ate fish and chips when there were no chips. It was called a chip, which was preferable to being handed an empty bag. Father gives the fortnightly treat a thumbs up.

If you like your country pubs lime-washed, open-plan and painted in heritage colours, this is the place for you. It's a contemporary interior designers image of a gastro country pub. It's friendly and the food is excellent. The beer is even better. But, it's living on the brink. The decor is getting tired, especially outside. Some internal redecoration is well overdue and one is left wondering if it's lack of money or lack of inclination. I hope it's neither, because once it's sorted, this is a...

Maybe we were just unlucky but we had a terrible experience, a very long wait for food, still waiting for our main course one hour forty minutes after arriving. When we did get it, it was cold. The pint of beer was in a two thirds pint glass, clearly marked on the rim. The water glasses still had soap suds in and the waitress burst into tears. Even though we assured the waitress that we knew none of these issues were her fault the owner blamed us and was very rude. Restaurants cannot use excuse that they are busy when they give poor service. If they take a lot of bookings as they had obviously done for Mother's Day then they need to provide the staff both in the kitchen and front of house to cope. I would certainly not reccomend this...

A lively pub which attracts folk of all ages for its good fayre, ales and ciders, this place can become busy at popular times but it's large rear garden provides extra space in fair weather. A team of friendly, welcoming and, importantly, enthusiastic staff provide good service. Regular events might include beer and music festivals, live musical evenings, various quizzes and craft fairs etc.; in fact, it seems nothing is impossible here. A side carpark is provided off an attractive village lane. Popular with walkers and cyclists as well and there's even a nearby rail station and...
