This is our experience on the night. I can’t vouch for others. A group of us went to the Three Tuns on the evening of Sat 20 Jan. It was very busy with a mixed age group of people drinking in the bar area and eating which created a good vibe in this classic country pub which is full of character. We had a variety of mains and puddings and all of us enjoyed them. I had the Chicken Dhaba which was outstanding (IMO better than any Indian Restaurant. It’s about as hot as a Madras). We also had the fajitas, seabass, jerk chicken and pie. Everybody was happy with what they had ordered. All arrived together. Clean plates all round. I chatted to a chap from another table who said that the prawn curry was also spot on. From what I saw all the staff seemed friendly, efficient and, while attentive and timely in their service, were not overly present. Overall we had an enjoyable and stress free evening in a relaxing atmosphere. We all agreed that we would definitely go again and I will be recommending it to...
Read moreHad a really nice lunch there a while back but things seem to hv changed when recently having an evening meal. No Bacardi, no cans or bottles of coke for those who hate the streamer and no sticky toffee pudding only discovered after ordering. Grilled haddock had no sauce and came with five tiny new pots which had no butter, tough skins and were curiously deflated like small bags half-filled with potato. No ordinary vinegar on the tables and staff didn't seem to be aware that only balsamic vinegar was available (we got sachets of conventional vinegar). Person in charge appeared to lack any concern about anything. Because there's such a good choice of decent gastro pubs nowadays, this pub is now off my list. Shame cos it's picturesque and has easy parking . Overall, it's a stark contrast to the attention l get in my nearest pub. Being professionally engaged with customers costs nothing and is not difficult. There's too much choice out there for staff to get away with being off-hand...
Read moreGreat food, great beer, great for the kids! Worth every star of the 5.
The wife and I split Olives for starters. The 4-year old and I split the Halloumi fries. She had more than I did (meaning it is delicious), so there's one star.
Wife had the Halloumi Burger and skinny fries, she said "I really enjoyed this". I didn't get a bite, so, must be true. One additional star.
I had the 3 Tuns Burger (the photo). A behemoth. Cajun chicken, bacon, burger. I think I saw lettuce cowering somewhere. Delicious. I'm set on meats for a month or so. One star.
The pub's garden also has a nice play area for children (or me?) with a swinging rope bridge and climbing net! 4-year old made an immediate friend on the equipment. One additional star.
The staff were very kind and pleasant, felt very relaxed. All told, the experience - including two pints, orange juice, and sparkling water was £55. Additional star.
This was our second time here (the first was after the Spring confinement ended in...
