The location was full of diners. Was told that there was a 30 minute wait on food which was okay. The starter arrived after around 15 minutes, the chicken goujouns were slightly dry, but we ate them. The main course arrived after another 30 minutes or so, the plates had not been cleared from the starters, so we weren't impressed with that. The salmon (we order 3 of them) was very dry. 1 was literally crunchy, it was that dry. The other 2 were were not moist at all and were themselves slightly crunchy. My sister left over half of her salmon, and when they eventually came to clear the plates away, never asked how the meal was, or why there was 3/4 of a piece of salmon left!!!!!! I was seething, as it was a treat for a couple of family members! I have been to this eatery several times, and came back because the lunchtime salmon was amazing last time around. There was no courtesy visit from staff during any of the courses, as they were so busy. This visit was a real let down. I will not be recommending this location again. If they can't cope with the volume, then they need to cut down the food table availability. My sister went back to the bar for a second round of drinks, and even though there was no one else at the bar, 2 members of staff were chin-wagging at the other end and totally ignored her for over 3 minutes. Atrocious service. Won't be visiting again!!!! Update........... We are still in the pub 20 minutes after we finshed the food, and I have managed to catch 2 members of staffs eyes who were behind the bar. Both of them chose to ignore me. PURE RACISM!!!!!!!!! Further update....... Lowered to 1*! I approached the Manager who was the lady who saw me beckon her over. She admitted she saw me beckon her. Which meant that she deliberately ignored us. I was met with the excuse that she was on the phone to her Dr, as she had an issue. I did notice her on the phone, but that was prior to me beckoning her over. At the end of the day, we were still paying customers. She had looked over at me 3 times since that call and chose to ignore me. I pointed out that she was not the only member of staff to ignore me and the customer service was absolutely abysmal. I was met with an 'I don't really a hoot' attitude. At this point, I wasn't going to stay and argue, telling her that she could read my review online.

You need to go here!!! This is by far one of the best pubs around and even more so being a Greene king pub! 👑 The staff are all super lovely, I've visited with friends and with a kiddo in the group and they always accommodate for us, the menu is absolutely spot on with a wide variety of meals all full of flavour and cooked to perfection, their chef should take a bow for the steak alone, their sharer steak is very reasonably priced and comes with all the sides and extras you could want. I've also had the fish and chips and burger from their lunch menu and for the price it's absolutely stonking value, if you're ever in the area you should deffo pop in here for a nice cold beverage and some grub. Their outdoor seating is great too with heated canopy seating and inside is just lovely too. A real gem, I hope they never change as it's perfect and will be regularly returning as it's just so good! Management and the team, take a bow! Edited today. 20/7/23 Seems the standard here has dropped significantly in the name of inflation and it shows, the tomahawk steak is no longer a sharer yet still the same price, no sides, no tomatoes or mushrooms just steak and chips, you pay extra for another sauce now whereas you used to get two portions of sides and sauces cause it's TO SHARE. arrived as a group for a celebration and the food all came out wrong, cold, soggy side salad on kids menu, and steak undercooked, send back then returned overcooked. Real shame as this was our regular food haunt and now it's turned into average grub at a pricetag, not worth the money and only accepted a small discount as was celebrating and didn't want the hassle. Probably won't return.

Nice Remote yet Accessible Family Pub by A516! Location: convenient to access from Mickleover Derby or villages like Hilton; by A516 The interiors of the pub is quite modern, the area I sat on was with high ceilings and lots of natural light; the tables by the bar in box seats has a telly mounted on the wall by each table. There is an outdoor eating and smoke area also. Food: Good variety ranging from Salads, Pub Classics (like Wraps, Steak Pie, Burger) (~£10), Hunter’s Chicken (£11), Seafood Platter (£14); Portion size are superb (I cannot finish my Hunters Chicken) Cost: £15-£20+/person; especially if you are lenient with your drinks order (coffee @ £2.85; spritz around £3) Customer Service: very attentive— took our orders carefully and checked if we are happy with our meal :) As a Mother’s Day special, we were offered with a standard size bottle of Red Wine! Overall: will recommend and will likely visit again! Tip: To reach Seven Wells by Car: Google Satnav may direct you to enter the parking area on A516. In reality the entrance is on Heage Lane, by the auction house Hanson’s. Just look out for Hanson’s banner as you are turning on the roundabout, where you can see Seven Wells on the roundabout.

Avoid!!!!! Been coming here for a couple of years now for mothers day fathers day birthdays etc eatch time booking a table of 8 at. Friday 11th of April we nipped down around 6ish 2 see if we could get a quick table of 7 ( ok was last minute) we was told that food was going 2 be a 40 minute wait witch was fair enough being a Friday tea time and last minute you could understand it so myself my mrs and kids selected a bench outside as it was lovely and warm an hour later I went 2 check on how long the food would be to be ment with the barmaid rolling her eyes saying it will be another 10 minutes bearing in mind we had been outside waiting nearly an hour... another 30 minutes went by and I approached the same barmaid asking her can we come and sit inside as my kids was getting cold as it was nearly 8pm by then ( been there since half 6ish ) she said not got any tables for 7 so have a look in the bar her attitude stank! .. so I had a look there wasn't any tables big enough for us.. so we had 2 continue 2 sit outside turning blue 10 minutes went by and i then had enough and approached the bar asking if our food isn't with us in 5 minutes then will have our money back .. funny enough our food was with us within 2 minutes.. so nearly a 2 hour wait when we was 1st told food was only a 40 minute wait.. our food my word what can I say if you like rock hard cold chips stale cob (burger) then its perfect then whilst eating the front doors were shut basically leaving us out side in the dark like some vermin! No 1 came to see if everything was OK & we was happy with the food ... definitely won't be returning again not having my kids treat like that definitely not spending my money here again! .. not a snob at all but just wanted me food in a reasonable time and to a reasonable standard & me kids not to be freezing outside waiting don't no if it was that I was still in my work stuff and wasn't smartly dressed but was unbelievable poor!.......... In your reply go and check your records i ordered 3 cokes 3 fruit shoots 1 carling with our food... I ordered 1 carling on my own at 6pm.. .. but no apologise and left outside.. nah complaint has been made to...
