Read moreI firstly want to say, the food we got was nice and if we had been responded to better I would have gone back.
As a family of 5, we went for Sunday lunch on 15/01/23. We ordered three pork, one beef and one chicken. We waiting over an hour. We should have thought something was wrong when the table next to us, who came at the same time, had their main meal, pudding had paid and left and we were still sat waiting for our main.
Anyway, when our meal came , it came as five beef. One with crackling. We explained that this was not our order. There was then a lot of talking amongst staff and the manager came out to say, he had made a mistake and had “thought” he had come out to tell us there was only beef left, but he had spoken to another table not us. Still not really sure if this is the true explanation to the issue as the table he said he had spoke to was a table of 6 not 5 and they had eaten before we got there. - not sure if the person who asked for crackling with their beef got their order!
Anyway we were left with the fact that there was only beef which 2 of the party do not like. They then managed to get a chicken for one person and the fifth person was left watching us eat. Whilst all this was happening, one beef was put and left in front of one of us. We asked for it to be taken away as it was getting cold.
We eventually agreed that we would have the 3 beef, 1 chicken and the beef that had been sat in front of one person got bought back and gave to a different person. ( we know it was the same plate because it had the crackling on) so I can only assume the other 2 beefs were the plates that had been left sat somewhere whilst they looked into it.
Yes, the food the 4 of us ate was nice. (Although not warm) due to it sitting around whilst we had the discussion on what had happened to our order, but i felt staff did not handle the situation well. No real apology or explanation as to what had happened and felt like we were a little...
Read moreBooked 2 weeks before for 14 people for a 90th birthday it was booked for 2pm we all arrived at 1.50pm . The young lady asked the name it was booked in I gave my name and said the booking was for 14 people including 2 disabled people , she said they was running late could we go to the bar and she would call us. She came a minute later and said we have you booked for eleven people I explained that I had booked for 14 people. She said she would sort it. At 2.30pm we was taken to a table and the orders for drinks was taken. My son then heard a female member of staff say to another group of people that we had only booked 4 people and turn up with a lot more people and that we had taken their table so he questioned what had been said saying that was not true. Soon a chap came we presume to be the owner/manager his attitude and posture was not expectable and he was verbally aggressive he said sit down you or you can all go for an early bath then I said" you what" and he then said in a aggressive voice" no out now all of you go. This upset us all especially the disabled and elderly members of our group We was so mad we all got up and left. We are all disgusted at the way we was treated . We feel the staff and owner /manager need training in honesty and customer services and the owner / manager certainly needs anger management training. Any decent owner /manger would have said I am sorry we seem to have problem with the booking we have double booked can you sit and have a drink while we sort it out etc. Basically we was blamed for their mistake and the treatment we received was disgusting. Just to add if you are disabled do not go the toilets are disgusting and not suitable for...
