I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming pub, and I left thoroughly impressed. While pubs are often associated with beer and hearty meals, what stood out to me here was their exceptional coffee. It's not every day that you find a pub that serves coffee of such high quality, and it was a delightful surprise. But what truly took my breath away was the view. The pub is situated in a picturesque location that offers stunning vistas. Sipping on a delicious cup of coffee while gazing out at the scenic beauty was a truly memorable experience. It's not just a place to enjoy a drink; it's a place to savor the moment. The combination of great coffee and an awe-inspiring view makes this pub a hidden gem worth discovering. Whether you're a coffee lover or simply in search of a relaxing spot with a view, this place has it all. I can't recommend it enough for those seeking a peaceful and enjoyable outing.

A community run pub, run to completely professional standards. Simple sandwich menu for lunch was well priced and good value; prawn mayo baguette and cheddar and pickle sandwiches we had were tasty and a good sized portion. Majority of beers and ciders on offer are local Devon brews and also reasonable prices. The views from the terrace and garden... priceless. Do stop by if you're in the area, a great place for a bite and a pint and great to see the community pulling together to keep their pub open.

Is been our fourth visit over the last month or so and each time it just keeps getting better..We had a family dinner for 16 people and everyone got what they ordered and were more than happy… then I’ve eaten Sunday lunch twice with just me and my partner.. not sure how they do it so well for very little money but it’s everything Sunday lunch should be well cooked, hot and plenty of fresh vegetables and crispy roast potatoes..and as an added bonus views across The River Dart and hills

PLEASE READ BEFORE EATING AT THIS PUB!!!!!We were so looking forward to going to this beautiful looking pub after a day on the beach, we were starving!… it was total disappointment, I got the mackerel , my partner got the chicken noodle, both from the special board!… omg…. It arrived, my mackerel was ‘tough’, I never thought you would be able to cook a mackerel n make it dry n tough, the potato was what seemed like an old baked potato chopped with no butter n a few fried peppers n onions with no sauce whatsoever, I added a cheap squirty mayonaise to try n make it edible, but think it had been left out in sun. My partners noodles were just noodle with tiny bits of ‘crispy chicken bits which had no sauce again. We also had cheesy garlic bread…. We did our best but it truly was inedible , n when we found a hair melted into the cheese….. I felt no option but to return the plates of food!… after a twenty mins, the girl returned with 19.50, the price of my mackerel!… I felt unhappy with this and asked to speak to manager. After another 15 mins , no manager came n the same bargirl came n we got the cash for the noodles but no refund on garlic bread…. But we were hungry n left it as that!!!…. The WORST thing was the next day the refund had been taken out of my bank as we origionly paid for the meal on the card… i have taken this issue up...

Dropped in here on the off-chance of a Sunday lunch and was pleased that they could accommodate us, and our cat.

The staff were all extremely pleasant and friendly.

We ordered the Sunday roast and I had a nut roast (a classic vegetarian option that I haven't had for a long time because it became passé).

The nut roast was absolutely exceptional. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and the nut roast was light, tasty, and moist.

The beef roast dinner was equally well presented and cooked, with enough beef to satisfy both cat and human.

I can't recommend this place enough. It is rare to find a place to eat as a vegetarian that offers vegetarian options as good as the meat-eating options. Well done and thanks!

Since then, we decided to try here for a Saturday lunch. Unfortunately, the menu is a bit restricted, offering a few meaty light bites, jacket potatoes or sandwiches. But again, the offering was good value and well cooked. The staff were friendly and helpful and made the cat feel more than welcome!

We recently revisited the King's Arms for Sunday lunch. Once again, consistently good food and friendly staff. Our cat enjoyed the roast beef while I enjoyed...

Myself and partner visited here one night after looking for a pub to go to whilst staying at a local campsite. Absolutely amazing warm welcome from the moment we stepped inside the door and fantastic service throughout out our entire time there. And the best bit is that this pub is owned and run by the local community, read the "our story" page on their website for full details.

In terms of customer service this pub excels at every level. In fact some of the big pub and restaurant chains would benefit from sending their staff there for some training and experience on how to make customers feel welcome.

If you like beer and ale there are several local varieties on offer and all of them are good. The food menu is simple with all of the normal pub classics, served in a timely manner with good presentation. The desserts and ice cream in particular are amazing.

The dining room has a lot of really lovely local paintings which are available to purchase at good prices. We went away with a lovely oil painting of a local beach as a souvenir of our stay.

After our first night we were so happy we immediately booked again for...
