Where to begin. Honestly the only reason why I have given service a 2 star and not a 1 is because there was a young waitress and waiter who was very apologetic and all round very friendly. However, The other older waitress was very rude and had an attitude which me and my family did not appreciate at all. We waited well over an hour for cold and a poor of an effort food to put it nicely. The chips were very salty and stone cold my grandma couldn’t even finish eating it because it was so salty, there was no lemon with our fish/ scampi, same with the coffee, onion rings and garlic bread, the photo of the burger speaks for itself (the onion ring that was supposed to be in the burger wasn’t and we had to order a side!) . I can’t even say that it was busy because there was 6 tables in use, 3 of which ordered after us. The rude waitress said reserved tables take priority when in actually fact we reserved the booking in the first place! And just to top it off there was a mouse running around my feet and under the table plus a few flies flying around our drinks and food! Honestly so so disappointed with the food, lack of communication mainly. Definitely not worth the money. Also barely any veggie options so wouldn’t go if you are, luckily I am pescatarian so had scampi.

Went to this pub after the £6.99 carvery deal online and a friend went on the same day 30 mins before and both of us left unsatisfied. The portion sizes were average and the meat was very well cooked. My friend had the beef but I was told no more beef was available, not what you expect from a carvery on a Sunday at 13:30 in the afternoon. A carvery should have a selection of meats throughout service and not have finished at the height of service for a Sunday Carvery. We both felt that the stuffing was packet produced, lacked flavour and was soggy. Again the same with the cauliflower cheese which was quite watery. The roast potatoes were overcooked and some were burnt but fluffy on the inside. The Yorkshire puddings were very small and although I had a large portion two was not enough and again had that feeling they were frozen. The pub however looked nice and the staff were friendly.

Arrived just before 7pm this evening, ordered food at 7. Starters and drinks were very prompt with no issuss there, however it took over an hour to get the mains.. bearing in mind the restaurant was pretty much empty and there was only me and my partner at our table. My mixed grill was missing the peppercorn sauce (that I paid extra for), the grilled corn, and the onion rings. I paid £4 extra to upgrade the Steak which looked like it had been pulled and stretched. The chips did not seem 'seasoned' as advertised. My partner's bean burger was incredibly dry.. the 'grilled' pineapple that came with her burger didn't look grilled at all (see photo). Even the table next to us which was a family of 6 managed to get their food in a reasonable time and had even ordered a mixed grill as well. Overall incredibly disappointed. It's very rare that I complain.

Not been to Fox and Hounds in about 5 years after our last visit we waited over an hour and a half for our mains however decided to give it another try in a hope for improvement on our last visit. WOW!! Probably one of the worst dining experiences we've had. When ordering food we got told it would be a 30 minute wait... not issue with that and we were a table of 9 so expected a wait. However what we recieved was massively below par... i ordered the Scampi and chips with mushy peas... the scampi was great, chips were undercooked which seemed to be a recurring theme with everyone on our table who ordered chips and i got what i can only describe as a dollop of luke warm mushy peas. My sons fish fingers were burnt and everyone at the table had something wrong with the food. But the real clincher was desserts.... we ordered desserts and only half of them arrived... 4 of us finishing desserts before the other 5 had even arrived... after a good 20/25 minutes of ordering, i saw the waitress taking other desserts to another table. We went to the bar to complain we got told because we had seperate orders they would come seperately which they did except the order off 4 desserts arrived first when they were ordered a good 10/15 minutes AFTER the order of 5. I ordered the Black Cherry Oreo Sundae which for some reason had sauce drizzled all over the outside of the glass with no taste of black cherry at all... Nobody cleared our plates off the table and we ended up moving them to another table when desserts arrived we had a clear table and to top it all off the guy in front of us was given a "clean" glass which had lipstick round the rim from a previous user!!! GROSS!! All in all we spent around £100 at Fox and Hounds and may as well just gone to McDonalds down the road for less than half the price... safe to say we wont be...

My husband and I chose to come here while waiting for his motorbike to be serviced locally, after reading great reviews it looked like a safe bet. When we arrived no one greeted us, we thought a lady that came towards us with a clipboard worked there but she was another customer. We sat ourselves in the conservatory and seeing the bar was busy chose to order on the app. After 20 minutes I went to find out where our drinks were and they hadn't come through. The lady on the bar poured them and gave them to me. About 5 minutes later another lady bought two more out . Eventually our food came out after about half an hour from ordering. It was OK not piping hot we both ordered burgers. Not one person checked on us or took our plates away. After our mains I decided as you did vegan apple pie and custard we would order a desert as I have lactose intolerance I was looking forward to not having to worry , when it was bought out I asked if the custard was definitely vegan and as I got the distinct feeling the lady wasn't 100% certain I didn't risk it as had to drive back to Nottingham the lady also boughtout the wrong pudding for my husband but rectified it . We left with no-one coming to check on us again. I have worked the majority of my life in the hospitality industry and know how hard it is . And understand that there wasn't nearly enough staff on duty . However, that said it takes nothing to acknowledge someone. Driving from Nottingham then doing the late shift in my own Job at a very large and extremely busy sainsburys store I was still hungry just before going to work. This could be a great place but more staff and...

A REVITALISED LOCAL GEM !!

Pre booking for 11 people was easy and I was invited to put our order in prior to going, to assist with speed of service on the night. (I chose not too, due to LOGISTICS and as we wouldn't be in a hurry). Having gathered in the pub garden for pre-drinks we moved through to be greeted by Joe (manager) and shown our table. He opened us a tab and made us feel welcome. Tonisha took our orders at the bar and advised on any individual requirements. Food for all 11 arrived simutaniously and in reasonable time. All 11 different meals from the comprehensive menu were hot, fresh, tasty and as requested. (it was not ping, ping food either) Whilst the restaurant was fairly busy, we were still asked by both Joe and Tonisha if all was OK. (which it was) They were very efficient and NEVER returned from the restaurant to the kitchen empty handed. All 11 meals were enjoyed and of a high standard with multiple compliments from friends. Joe easily broke down the very good value for money main tab at the end, for each sub group payment and was sociable, hospitable and humorous too. The bar, lounge, restaurant, garden and restrooms were clean and fresh and the well kept car park gave a good first and last impression. Having been an old regular here years ago, I returned about 5 years ago to be very disappointed. NOW however, with new Owners, Managers and staff all faith is restored. ALL our party said they would definately return. THANK YOU AND WELL DONE THE...
