Karens Country Cafe — Restaurant in South Kesteven

Not a great experience for simple coffee. We went inside and was nobody to serve us, we waited and a lady came to ask us what we want. We asked for 2 coffee and the lady she put the cattle on even next to her was a coffee machine. We said we want 2 flat whites and she struggled to find out how to turn on the coffee machine. We’ve been asked to take a sit and she will bring them to us. After long time waiting she came with 2 coffee, definitely not flat whites or lattes or any other milk coffee. Can be busy at times if there's the car boot on (Sunday mornings) or something like a bikers meet up (although that is rare)

It's well worth it though with excellent all day breakfasts, lunches, cakes and Sunday meals with fabulous old-fashioned desserts, all at reasonable prices

There's even a small plant seller, fruit & veg stall and basic local foods such as bread and eggs

I went there 3 times in a week when I was petsitting at the nearby Tallington Lakes and I will certainly go there again...

Great fried egg and bacon sandwich, times four, we enjoyed freshly cut potato chips and two large mugs of steaming coffee. As always the welcome was warm and genuine, all staff act in unison like one big successful family offering a human face.
