Stayed behind the pub on the campsite for a few nights. The site field is large and would not feel packed at maximum capacity of 12 pitches. Its a little way to get drinking water and the elsan point, but it keeps your steps up. The weather was really good when we were there but if it rained I suspect the field would get pretty soggy so make sure you have good boots. Dogs are welcome and luckily for us everyone was a responsible owner and no dogs barking in middle of night. The pub is lovely, very traditional looking inside and out. The staff are very friendly and eager to help and have chats with. We booked one evening meal there and the food although not the cheapest but not too expensive was totally delicious. We really enjoyed our main and pudding. Servings were ample and the food was hot. It may take 30 or so minutes for your food to arrive but I'm guessing it's cooked to order. Definitely would eat there again. The only thing I would say negative about the place is the campsite is possibly marginally over priced for a non electric pitch. Other than...

I don’t drive so took my girlfriend here as on Booking.com it said there was darts and bowling, so thought great will give us stuff to do, when we got there there was nothing like it. It also said breakfast included in price Which was a plus. Anyway when we got there the room door didn’t open so put us in another room which was mediocre, old style compared to other pictures we’d seen. No bowling or darts, she said she had no idea what we meant. Food was lovely, can’t complain at all. In the morning breakfast was brought to us in a bag, we thought we were getting a cooked breakfast but it was pastries and porridge, my girlfriend is milk intolerant so couldn’t have any. WiFi didn’t work and wasn’t told till I said something the morning after that it would only connect from downstairs or something. My parents picked me up and got stared at the whole time like they were up to something. All in all I won’t ever return. When I complained nothing was done about it, just said we’re new so don’t know nothing about it. So for £75+ save your money it’s...

Work stay!! Stayed here for work as it was convenient for where I had been working. I was given room number 7,which was inside up the stairs and along a corridor in desperate need of a lick of paint and some character. Inside the room looked clean but small, with only a vanity sink, toilet and shower in the bathroom. The bar in the evening seemed nice, with a good atmosphere and friendly staff. For my meal I opted for Lasagne (with chips), which I found to be tasteless and extremely dry and could not eat much of it unfortunately. Back to my room where after a long day I just wanted to sleep... This is unfortunately the worst thing about this establishment... My room was located above the pool table in the bar... And I could hear every ball being potted and everyone talking in the room below. I finally got to sleep at 11-30pm. Breakfast is available in the morning from 7am-11am, but this morning I was sat in the bar waiting for a member of staff to...

Just back from two nights camping in the field in a van and driveway tent. Plenty of space and we were able to choose where to pitch up which was great as we wanted shade for the dogs. There was a field nearby which was good for a quick dog walk and Bourne Woods locally was excellent for a shady walk . We had pizza from the van one night which was excellent as was the pub meal the second night. We found the staff to be friendly and informative . There was access to an outside tap and toilets when the pub open. We took our own portaloo and tent. Would definitely camp here again for a weekend. We visited Rutland Waters and Grimsthorpe Castle and Gardens and enjoyed both.

Food great staff amazing .has a great night .we paid 75 pound for a room but it didn't exclude breakfast although on the site it said free .As a big group and spending alot of money .to be told we had to pay for breakfast was a let down. But the Biggest let down was the room it's no wonder you have to pay up front .thankfully the beds were comfortable but given the filth in the bathroom I wouldn't like to look under the sheets .
