Took the wife for a bit of lunch we stood at the bar for what seemed to be an age before being served, I asked the young lady for a table for a table for two as the pub was more than half empty it wasn't a problem but it was a surprise to be told there was an half hour wait for a table can only assume they were understaffed, I had the ham eggs and chips it was excellent the wife had the vegetarian chilli con carne and loved it.so it a 5 out of 5 for the food but a 4 for the long wait.

Booked the Welby Arms at short notice from an info sheet at the accommodation where we were staying at Grantham. More than happy with the place, the staff and the food. Beautiful English country pub, food was tasty and reasonably priced. Also had Thatchers Gold cider on draught which was well appreciated on a hot day! 3 starters, 3 mains, 1 dessert and about 8 drinks for £108. Would absolutely recommend.

Just a short drive off the A1 to get to this lovely, country-style pub where you are greeted by an open fire place and a smile. Choice of eating in the bar or restaurant areas and the food is GORGEOUS!!! Good choice of gluten free options clearly marked on the menu. Big thumbs up and 4 empty plates from my family today 👍🏻

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN DO NOT GO!!!!!!

The owner is quite possibly the rudest individual I have EVER come across in my life. My day has been completely ruined because of my sons visit to this pub.

The most recent visit before today I commented on some of the rude staff (other than the chef he was really lovely) the owner looked appalled that we had taken our son for a meal. He is 15 months and of course made a mess. I got on my hands and knees and cleaned EVERY last bit up.

The opening times had recently been updated so my partner arrived with my son for a meal this evening and it was still closed AGAIN the owner was beyond rude. He then went on to comment about my son and made my partner feel extremely unwelcome.

As a mum I am absolutely DISGUSTED with the way he has made us all feel. I live less than 1 mile away and myself, my friends and my family who are all appalled by the details of this encounter will never step foot in the pub again.

RUDE RUDE RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!!!!!! Plus the food is very below average but we wanted to support local and was convenient for an busy evening.

We will definitely be using the very welcoming pubs in Long Bennington in the future

DISGRACEFUL! My day was ruined. Some pubs don't allow children, if you are that much of an arse that you are offended by babies perhaps don't allow...

I have visited here many times and have had a warm friendly welcome with delicious food. However, I visited over the weekend and noticed new management. It was a particularly busy weekend so we got there early. I stood waiting at the bar while the family in front of me were being served. A gentleman came from the restaurant to the bar after a couple of minutes of me waiting, another member of staff asked who's next and the gentleman stated his order and Ishe proceeded with the order, i turned to my family in a bit of disgust as I work in the business and know that it's the bartender's job to note who was next. The staff member obviously noticed my disappointment and said oh sorry i didn't know you were next and continued to serve the man. This I found rude but continued to wait. A different member of staff then asked if I was waiting I said yes, Im Very sorry I haven't booked but ... Before I could finish my sentence she stated quite rude and abruptly the word NO!! I hadn't even finished what I was saying. She said we have nothing available and was very rude with it too, I asked would it be possible just to have a little something outside or in the bar area she said quite rude and abruptly again NO. I found this very unwelcoming and will not be returning, shame really as this was a place we had many family gatherings at ,...

Food was quite nice but despite the pleasant look from outside the interior is very drab and in need of a make over. The most disappointing and main reason for the one star was the attitude of the staff/landlord where we were made to feel very unwelcome and an outsider, we checked the website and there was nothing on there to say dogs were unwelcome so arrived for our booked table with our small dog to be told she wasn’t allowed as soon as we walked in - making quite a scene with the landlord saying very loud - Ooooh we don’t allow dogs - and everyone at the bar falling silent and staring. We said it was no problem and we would put her in the car but we had checked the website and Facebook page and it didn’t say dogs weren’t welcome. As we were half way through the door the landlord said - yes but it doesn’t say they are welcome either - clearly trying to get a laugh from the locals stood at the bar drinking. He came across drunk to us. We were also served our wine glasses in glasses that had lipstick marks on them. Overall We were made to feel very uncomfortable and nearly didn’t return to eat but we were hungry so did but the staff who served us weren’t much better. Sadly...
