Woody's Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in South Kesteven

Stay here on the campsite for a couple of days, booked a table for the Saturday night, as it was the girlfriends birthday, it was her special night out and so wanted to make an effort by getting dressed up, on arriving at the restaurant we was informed that they couldn't find a booking in the book in my name, and we couldn't use the restaurant because it had been hired out for a private function, they offered us a table in a different area of the bar not a nice area, probably best described as spit and sawdust area! As it was my girlfriend's birthday we thought we had better stay and eat there as time was getting on, but after looking at the very limited menu and taking in the surroundings we thought better of it, so we went back to our motorhome and had something to eat there, I don't know why they took the booking when the restaurant has been hired out for a private function, and to make matters work they even phoned me to confirm the booking, so tell me woodie's why would you do that ? Tried this caravan site for the first time and went to Woody's bar as it is the centre point of the site. Firstly I would like to say that the staff were great, very friendly and helpful Drinks prices were expensive but to be expected seeing as they have the monopoly The food..... Well this is what really let it down. We went there for a meal for my wife's 60th birthday with relatives, straight off the bat there were items already crossed off the limited menu, luckily some of our party grabbed 2 out of the remaining 3 lasagne, one was told that we couldn't swap garlic bread for chips, instead we had to order extra chips!!!??? As the items we fancied were "off the menu" (at 6.30pm) I decided on a burger. The food arrived promptly and was hot. Shortly after eating my burger I had tummy ache followed by the squits which lasted into the next day which as I hadn't eaten all day I could only put down to one thing We will definitely visit the site again but will give woodys a miss, shame really as this place has so much potential and could have really benefitted from a live band, especially as it was a...

Had a meal last night we weren't expecting miracles we have eaten here several times and it was always acceptable. Last night some of the staff were quite rude they couldn't find our booking despite me pho ing earlier to check. It was eventually found after I insisted they looked again. We asked if chips could be swapped for a jkt potato but we're refused saying they had to stick to the menu despite jkt potatoes being available on the menu. The fish and chips were good everything else was passable. We ordered desserts one arrived then we waited 20 mins for the remainder. Lots of loud drunk people which is the norm and I have no problem with this I love to see people enjoying themselves but the language was really bad and there were lots of kids in the vicinity. It will take a lot for me to return again I would sooner cook...
