Netherton Restaurant — Restaurant in South Norfolk

I don't normally leave reviews but I feel I have to with this restaurant. Food was embarrassingly bad...I had the grilled aubergine, which was literally just that, but not cooked through and no seasoning whatsoever, served with two practically raw cabbage leaves and coated with parmesan, which wasn't mentioned on the menu. The Parmentier potatoes and wild garlic pesto, which were mentioned on the menu, were not on the plate! There was a non descript 'smear' of something, which none of 3 waiting staff could tell me what it was (a bit worrying as I have a gluten allergy - something that didn't feel safe in this restaurant). My husband ordered chips, which after chasing, arrived towards the end of the meal (waitress explained 'they come out separately as they're a separate order"...er, no...they're a side dish!) My husband ordered a beer, which he had to ask 3 times for. I ordered a white wine - no options were offered. When we tried to leave the restaurant we were faced with a wall of the owner's male friends crowding the doorway and when they noticed us were shouting 'move, let the customers out", which felt very intimidating. It seemed like chaos to be honest...a poorly run shambles and food poorly executed. Shame - we had high hopes for a decent place...

First I want to say a huge thank you to the girl Kate !!! who served us, who gave us energy and a huge positive that we felt, she has professional skills that you will not find almost anywhere because of this, many thanks to her. We will definitely come there especially in order to visit again and feel the care and attention that this girl, whose name is Kate, gave us I won 2 vouchers for Christmas but I never had time to visit this place, we really planned to come for a long time, but due to being very busy. I could not have such an opportunity, but yesterday We gathered with friends. We decided to go see. What is this place. We never thought that in such a small town. There is such a great place and there is such a great service food at a high level and good quality. I am very whimsical about ideas and according to my requirements, because I always watch what I eat and what I drink you have an amazing place and you have amazing staff a wonderful atmosphere kitchen, so keep on the same place and keep doing what you are doing Thank you so much for you and your place and also a huge thank you to Kate who was with us...

Hi my partner surprise me with taking me out on a school night for a meal to yours last night we had to drive for nearly an hour and when we got there she said it’s a surprise and it’s 20% off so we can afford it during the week we had a nice meal I had steak ribeye she had duck we had a bottle of wine for £28 when she went to pay for the bar for the meal. We were charged full price of £78 it clearly states on your page it is 20% off or is it only if you ask for the 20% off?
