Group of walkers stopped off 2:30 Sunday afternoon; realised we’d have to sit outside due to space. Booked food in pairs agreeing it would come as ready and not be held back for a simultaneous group delivery, and warned it "might take a while”. After an hour asked how many orders ahead of ours; told it was being done, 10 to 15 mins. Food arrived after 1.5hrs with an apology and told they were busier than expected. Kept saying “with respect….”, which I challenged only to be told the waiter knew the expression meant “kiss my ass”. I suggested the waitress in future forewarned of the actual expected delay, but was told they could not because we were not booked. Sounded strange, was told “we are only a small country pub” – true but completely irrelevant. Turns out that booked people keep going to the top of the kitchen priority and walk-ins kept getting put back. Really not too difficult to tell people this as they order food so they can make an informed decision. The food however, when it did arrive was rather nice, but the experience was dreadful and would not give them my trade again because of lack of staff training in communication...

Read moreWe recently visited three rivers campsite and was looking for a local pub for a meal and a pint and we stumbled across this little gem. We had breakfast on the first day which was fresh with lovely produce and reasonably priced. Along with this the owners and staff were infectious. We returned each day for meals and a few beers and were basically kept fed and watered on our camping trip. We was late back on evening and the staff kept the kitchen open for us so we could have a warm meal. We had a lovely holiday made so much better by the atmosphere and hospitality of the folks in this village pub. Many thanks you’re amazing love the three late...
