The Bull — Restaurant in South Oxfordshire

One Star is generous, worst meal I have ever paid for. Firstly I'd like to know that the staff that served were incredibly friendly, and it seems it's a souly management problem. Saturday night and there was no one around above 18 ???? So here it goes, the menu is varied and from experience a pub that serves one Japanese dish, one Italian, one french is never done well. So I went for steak, pub food, they'll do that perfect I thought. How I was wrong I ordered medium rare, and the first slice was perfect then after that it was it was like eating a chilled sloppy dog toy, disgusting made me feel sick how cold it was. This was the first time in my adult life I haven't finished a meal. I was offered a desert or an alcoholic drink I politely declined. I didn't want to pay but when there was no one with authority around I thought it was unfair to put that on the staff. £50 quid down the drain After mentioning to many people in the past week others have had similar experience. Wasted walk to the local pub.... We thought we would do the local community a favour and support our small businesses, but left disappointed and let down by the staff.

I called at 2pm, asked if they had any tables left for 5 people that afternoon.

I was informed that “the kitchen closed at 5pm,” frankly this was not the answer to my question.

Again i asked if i could get a table for 5 people at some point that afternoon, to which i was asked “what time i would like to come in?”

3pm i booked the table for and we arrived at 2:30, within this 30 minute time period, they had no tables inside and could only offer us the wet tables outside. (It had been raining on and off all day, and was about to rain again).

We were offered a table indoors if we waited 10-15 mins. So good news, we will order some drinks. Upon the barmaid pouring the first drink, we was then informed they had run out of Roast dinners. 🙃🙃🙃🙃. It was Sunday and obviously what we came in for.

So we left. Never even had an apology. I guess thats because i am not Royalty...

Great Milton is a lovely village and the Bull is certainly in keeping with the village. Our experience was outstanding! The staff were attentive and efficient, drinks were at our table in good time with food following not long after. Scampi was hot crunchy and real with a generous portion size. Burger was simple but delicious again a generous size , it held together well in the hand and left me feeling sated. Drinks were priced very affordably and a meal for 3 with drinks was under £45 which in these times is incredible value.
