We were bike packing through the chiltern hills and decided to stop here for a late lunch on a Saturday. The food was so delicious. I had the halloumi burger and it was great. Homemade relish, healthy portion of halloumi and the burger bun stole the show for me. It was so fluffy and light - also homemade! The skin on fries were crispy and tasty. Best part of my visit was the service though, the two lovely people who served us were friendly, helpful and just so pleasant. I’ll be coming back! Oh and they do Guinness!

Rolled Roast Pork Belly Sunday lunch, to takeaway. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommended! Didn't even need a quick reheat. Lady answering the phone for orders and bringing out the food is just lovely. Thank you!

We have frequented the Wheatsheaf for several years now and because of the lovely staff, food and venue we decided to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary there. We had a fantastic time. Nothing was too much trouble for Roger (the owner) and his staff. Roger is South African by birth and because of our love for his homeland and their food and wine we decided to have a braai which is a South African BBQ. It was superb. The venue was excellent for our requirements as it has a lovely garden but if the weather is inclement (which it was) there is plenty of covered seating to accommodate everyone without encroaching on the bar area. We have to say a huge thank you to Roger for his organisation and his culinary skills at the open bbq and his staff, especially his manager Cameron, for making the event so special and making some great memories for us. Our guests loved it despite the weather. We cannot recommend the Wheatsheaf highly enough. Please be aware they are not open for lunch on weekdays. Date of...

Great pub, amazing atmosphere, caters for everyone including dogs. Guvnor (Roger) was on shop floor to meet and greet, makes it so personal. We felt so welcome. And as for pork scratchings-I'll never eat the regular packet stuff again. Ask staff for the pork crackers with salsa. I don't even like salsa but this stuff - wow! :-D The staff we met were Roger and Cameron. Both made us welcome, made sure we had what we needed and took a genuine interest in us! :-D...
