We have frequented the Wheatsheaf for several years now and because of the lovely staff, food and venue we decided to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary there. We had a fantastic time. Nothing was too much trouble for Roger (the owner) and his staff. Roger is South African by birth and because of our love for his homeland and their food and wine we decided to have a braai which is a South African BBQ. It was superb. The venue was excellent for our requirements as it has a lovely garden but if the weather is inclement (which it was) there is plenty of covered seating to accommodate everyone without encroaching on the bar area. We have to say a huge thank you to Roger for his organisation and his culinary skills at the open bbq and his staff, especially his manager Cameron, for making the event so special and making some great memories for us. Read moreWe were bike packing through the chiltern hills and decided to stop here for a late lunch on a Saturday. The food was so delicious. I had the halloumi burger and it was great. Homemade relish, healthy portion of halloumi and the burger bun stole the show for me. It was so fluffy and light - also homemade! The skin on fries were crispy and tasty. And as for pork scratchings-I'll never eat the regular packet stuff again. Ask staff for the pork crackers with salsa.
