I have never commented on one of these review sites before but after this comment was brought to my attention I felt compelled to. I have been into this pub several times and it is simply not like that, not a hint of discrimination of any kind, it really is just not that kind of place, everyone is always made to feel welcome (even dogs). The staff are lovely, the food is amazing and the management are genuinely the best I have ever experienced as a customer and I feel that certain comments left recently on this site are unfair and incorrect. On any weekend night which I have been there I ALWAYS have to book ahead as it is almost always full and so it is very usual for walk-in customers to be turned away, I have seen this happen many times in front of me. I would hate for a good business and a cracking village pub to be besmirched by what is clearly a simple misunderstanding or possibly a vindictive individual or competitor. Read moreWe went to the Nabs Head on Friday 29th August with family for a meal. We would like to compliment the chef as he did come to the door and ask if everything was okay, and the food itself was lovely. Unfortunately the waiter did disappoint and put a dampener on our visit.
The barman/waiter was very unwelcoming and not friendly at all. He never said hello or goodbye, please or thank you. When we came to ordering the food, he did not approach the table and we had to shout our order from the table to the bar as he did not come over. We got the impression that he was just not interested in speaking to anyone or conversing in any way.
When the food arrived, he simply dumped all of the meals on the table without explaining what each one was and left it for us to sort out between ourselves.
We would definitely think twice about coming again if he was working the bar due to the above, which is a shame as everything...

The menu has all the usual pub classics, but there are also some more interesting dishes like the sizzler, which is a mix of beef and chicken served sizzling hot on an iron skillet. You can choose rice, chips, or both, which is a nice touch, and that's offered with most of the dishes.
Between us, we tried a good mix of mains and sides. Everything came out hot and freshly made, and you could tell a lot of care had gone into each plate. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal—no complaints at all. The dessert menu was a real highlight, with a great range of choices.
All in all, a very enjoyable lunch and a proper local pub feel. Would happily recommend and look forward...
