Hands down the worst meal I have ever had in my life. My family and I had driven 3&1/2 hours so we would go to Alton towers together tomorrow. The I pad crashed and after over an hour of waiting the waitress came back and apologised stated that she would have our order reprocessed as a priority. Mistakes happen and we asked for a discount as we had waited so long. The rest of the staff were so polite and apologetic but when the assistant manager came over to speak with us about a discount, offered a free cookie sharer with the most amount of attitude I have heard In my life. We stated that this would not suffice due to the substantial wait and we were all tired and hungry, we wanted to eat then continue our hours journey to the hotel.
She reluctantly then offered an ÂŁ11 discount which we agreed on. My partner and I both ordered steaks with burnt ends. She received 3 cremated miniscule pieces of meat and I received a singular piece of fat in a dipping pot. My partner was very upset by this point, understandably so, she asked for her food to be taken back as she had lost her appetite and did not even want to eat anymore. The assistant manager argued over this and stated that the burnt ends are weighted portions. Which could not possibly be true and the portions were dramatically different in size.
My food was also cold when I received it, but unlike my partner I could not go without food,I had to eat something after working all day and then driving 3&1/2hours. I would of eaten roadkill at this point, which to be frank would of been hotter and tasted better.
My mother in law paid her half of the bill and I genuinely felt so agrived and let down that I decided I was going to leave my contact details so that the actual manager could get into contact with me, I refused to pay under the 2015 CRA. When I explained this to the manager, she told me that she was phoning the police and stating that I had committed theft as I never intended to pay in the first place and that she does this with travellers all of the time. She attempted to bully me into paying, which due to this it was sealed that I would not be.
I am disgusted and appauled to hear that very discriminatory and foul stereotype that she actually had the audacity to actually speak aloud. She then refused to take my details and then walked away from me when I got my phone out to record the obceneties and that I was leaving my details. She walked away and spoke to me so rudely adding insult to injury.
The assistant manager has no professionalism and I am genuinely concerned for any staff and customers that come into contact with her. It's 2024 there is enough going on in the world, without the hate that came out of this woman's mouth.
Lucky a TL and one other coworker which I heard her verbally abuse throughout their shift stepped in and took my details.

Read moreI live very local to this pub so use it regularly. I've now had some really bad experiences here and won't be back. Before Xmas I visited with my family, when I went to settle the bill their card machines were down, they wanted me to wait which I wasn't willing to do so as had children. I live less than a minute away so. Was happy to pop across the following day and settle up. Later that evening they proceeded to call me asking me to go back across, saying I couldn't pay over the phone as machines were still down. I explained for the second time I would go across the following day and settle up. Second incident I turned up with my 2 year old daughter who was very excited to use the Wacky Warehouse, we arrived at 5.57pm, last admission being 6pm. She was not allowed to in causing alot of upset and I took my business elsewhere as was very annoyed due to arriving within the time they state! Third incident a bit of time had passed by so I again give them another chance.... My mistake!! I ordered a vegan burger which in the picture looked amazing, complete with tomatoes, onions, and lettuce bulging out the side. When it arrived it came with about 3 small shreds of shrivelled up lettuce!! I'm not one for complaining but was so disappointed I spoke with the head waitress who told me although the picture showed this its not in fact what u receive as its not stated in the print. I find this very misleading and in fact a very badly advertised menu which I feel should be addressed!! I strongly advise anyone who uses this restaurant in the future double checks what they are ordering as it's most definately not what the pictures advertise and might be worth double checking with a member of staff what u will actually receive. Do not take an excited child to the wacky warehouse unless u arrive alot earlier than the time stated for the last admission and lastly if unfortunately the card machines happen to go down be prepared to be made to feel like it's your fault and to jump back out of bed when they decide they want paying!! It's a good job I only...
Read moreWe stopped by this restaurant for dinner and were seated at a table that was obviously sticky and grubby. We ordered drinks first but the waitress was slow to get back to us and then slower to take our food order. When we finally ordered our food, it took about forty minutes to recieve it, all in all finally starting to eat about an hour after we arrived.
We were asked if there was any allergies and we said yes, gluten free and were handed a gluten free menu. The gluten free member of our party ordered the grilled salmon fillet, only to be told they were out of prawns. Not to worry though, as this could be subsituted for eggs.
When the salmon finally arrived it was a little square of fish on a big plate with some dry vegetables and a couple of potatoes, with one small fried egg perched on top. The salmon was dry and hard and seemed microwaved. The restaurant was not at all busy so we have no idea why it took forty minutes to produce a dry piece of fish with some vegetables and a veggie burger. The workers seemed to be spending most of their time chatting beside the bar.
The veggie burger was fine, but was advertised as coming with coleslaw, chips and onion rings. The coleslaw was a little spoonful in a sauce bowl, there was a couple of handfuls of thin greasy chips and maybe two small onion rings.
The restaurant itself was overall grubby and unclean, including the bathroom. There were massive cobwebs in there, a broken toilet seat that was left on the floor of one of the cubicles, and it stank of urine.
When time came to pay the bill, we barely got a glance at it before the card machine was shoved in our faces. This was by the third waitress to serve us during the course of our meal, which was messy and unprofessional as one server should stick to a table.
The atmosphere was depressing and gloomy. There weren't many other customers and the decor is dated and dull.
The cost was definitely overpriced, especially the salmon, which cost 17 pound for microwaved slop.
We will...
