This was our first visit for Sunday lunch for about 2 years, although we've been at other times of the week. As always the staff were excellent and very accommodating with a request to move seats (due to being very close to the front door as in a draft) There's always a good selection of drinks too. The food however was a bit disappointing. Plus, for what you get, I feel it's expensive. We had a 3 meat roast which was a good size and just under £20. The second dish was the 4oz fillet (2 medallions) with a mini beef pie. This is over £25. I asked for my steak to be rare but one was medium, the other well over and had no pink inside at all. However, it tasted ok so I didn't flag it to the waitress. The disappointing part of both meals was the total lack of seasoning. The vegetables were extremely bland and neither meal was particularly hot (except the mini pie which was volcanic hot!!) I never add salt at the table but I added it here to get a bit of flavour. I realise reduced salt consumption is recommended, but these vegetables which I think we're frozen veg really needed it. Its disappointing to have a meal out and feel this way. I didn't feel a complaint was warranted as we both ate our meals. But properly seasoned food and it all served hot would make a big difference.

Officially now one of my favourite pubs. Firstly, we did eat here, although I didn’t grab any photos of the more modern extension to the already-existing gorgeous Manor House (the house is where the bar is!) BUT, the food was absolutely phenomenal, in addition to the service - I’d recommend the Sunday lunch, all cooked beautifully. Tad pricy admittedly, but it is what it is. Now, onto the bar. Absolutely stunning for a history buff like myself. The place oozes history and, thankfully, the interior has been kept mostly in line with its wonderful history and years. There are function rooms, too, which I’ve attached as photos (one room sits up to 10 in front of a large old-fashioned fireplace). Huge car park, excellent facilities (and electric car charging which is a good touch). I will be back again, and again, and again!

We arrived just before our table was booked, we received a fast and friendly welcome and we're seated promptly. We ordered our food and drinks with our designated waitress of the evening "Abi" who was very attentive, friendly and polite. Our food arrived very quickly and we were extremely pleased with the prices and value of the food. The Pork chop dish was extremely nice, well cooked, nicely presented, very filling and well priced and the Goats cheese pizza was very flavoursome, crispy and being able to have the added theatre of the clay oven open for all to watch the pizzas being cooked was very entertaining. 10/10, great food, well priced for just under £80 for mains, sides, deserts and drinks. And a very enthusiastic waitress (Abi) who added to the overall experience. We'll be visiting again!

To think we wasn't given a substantial reduction in our Bill left me baffled. We arrived at our time of 18.30 to be greeted by a friendly gentleman who clearly couldn't find our booking so he went to speak to a lady on another computer. They spent a while looking then both walked off into the restaurant to then come back and asked us to follow them. They took us into a room where there were no guests and said they were sorry but the table we had booked still had a party of people on there so thought we'd like to sit out of the way of others! In this room the tables wern't big enough to seat our party of 7 so we had to pull the round table upto the bench table which really was not ideal. The lady came to ask for our drink order. We commented on the fact she didn't write the order down and able to memorise. Unfortunately my drink had tonic water instead of lemonadw and my daughters was the wrong flavour of j20. My daughter accepted hers and mine was changed. Our food order began with my daughter asking for sausage and mash to which we were told oh I am so sorry we have run out of mash as all the sunday diners had requested it. My daughter had a look again on the menu and said ok I'll have the seabass please to which the lady said did he not tell you when you arrived that we too have run out of seabass. We were half expecting her to say only joking but didnt so my daughter looked again and asked for scampi which the lady said yes we have that. My sister who's 60th meal it was for wanted seabass but had to look again and chose the pork chop. The lady turned to my mom who said could I have the lamb please only to be told I am so so sorry but we've also run out of lamb so as she couldnt swap to seabass she opted for scampi which she really did not want. The other orders you had. The starters arrived and tasted ok but the soup without a doubt had been watered down making it not the most pleasant to taste and one soup order did not have butter to go with the bread so we had to request that. We received our mains... The fish was heavily burnt making the vast amount of batter raised and hard therefore I had to pick off the batter for my son to just eat some fish and it looked like you'd run out of fries. The two scampi meals, one had 9 scampi and one had 13! The burger was poorly arranged and not the nicest taste. My lasagne looked like it had been reheated more than once, it did not look appetising. The salad didn't even comprise of one lettuce leaf and had 2 baby tomatoes and 2 slices of cucumber and that amount to a side salad! Had I not witnessed this myself I'm not sure I would have believed this happened and to not offer a refund has really shocked me. As for the 40% voucher, this was irrelevant because our experience was frankly a car crash, disgusting and upsetting as it was for a special ocassion. Needless to say we won't be...

We pre-booked the board room for a private family meal / party to celebrate my wife's birthday on Friday 2nd May Our party consisted of 5 adults and 5 children On arrival we were made very welcome by the duty manager who checked us in and then escorted us directly to the board room, which is ideal for a private party, especially if there are young children present, as it has such a relaxing feel to it and parents can relax knowing that the kids, can be free to wander around the room in a safe, secure environment There was also a good choice of music played through the sound system at just the right level so that it was easy to have conversation Lucy and the team were warm, friendly and attentive in making us welcome and comfortable, before taking our drinks order and then allowing us time to settle before returning to take our food order There was a good choice of food on both the main and kids menus. When the food was presented, it was served hot, fresh and all meals were served together, so there was no waiting around during service The food itself was as always hot, tasty and good value for money. The kids were very happy too, as Lucy and the team provided them with pencils and paper to help keep them entertained After our meal, we were able to go out into the outside area and have a drink in one of the heated booths while we awaited our taxis All in all it was a fab family experience Many thanks to Lucy and the team for making us feel so...

We hadn't been to the Manor since pre covid, we had a couple of visits where we experienced poor service although the food has always been great. We are so pleased we went back. The food was exceptional and the service second to none. We were assisted by at least 4 members of the team however out waitress was Alexandra and she was a breath of fresh air, friendly, efficient and incredibly polite regardless of being incredibly busy. We cannot wait until our next visit.

Thank you so much for the wonderful meal and lovely evening. See you again soon 😊

Our meal 2 sticky chicken starters (lush) 1 seabass (WOW) 1 ribeye steak med (bloody lovely) Sticky toffee pudding (best hubby has had apparently) 1 cheesecake with sour cherry (my mouth was watering whilst I ate)

So one week on and we returned for another meal and again came away thinking WOW! Katie was our waitress today, what a lovely lady with such a wonderful genuine smile. Fabulous food, absolutely delicious, we cannot fault a thing. An absolute pleasure to visit.

Thank you again.

Yet another exceptional meal (14.09.24) Excellent service from Emily, the Manor is always exceptional the team really do go above and beyond to make you welcome and to be helpful but never imposing. The meals are delicious and filling. Thank you so much for never...
