I can't comment on food and hospitality as the pub was closed upon our arrival 'on spec' (googling for opening is suggested to avoid disappointment), this pub which is located at the boundary crossroads between Shropshire and Staffordshire. This makes it an important place for students of British medieval history as it was a location known to the Welsh hero Owain Glyndwr and Iolo Goch in the 15th century (and possibly Myrddin earlier), as a sacred spot mentioned in Welsh prophecy. Read moreWe came to eat but decided not to after sitting in the garden for a few minutes. As we walked out to the garden with our drinks we were confronted by the landlady's washing drying on the decking. The garden was a bit neglected and contained a rusty rubbish bin and has a really noisy cooling fan which made conversation difficult.
We tried the dining room only to find a vaccum cleaner left out in the middle. Decided to eat somewhere else.

Unlike some other pubs I have been to lateley they are complying to the Covid-19 requirements, have a sanitiser upon entry, offer table service and take your contact details before they serve you.
