This is the only proper artisanal bakery in the area. No sausage rolls. No pasties. But amazing pastries and bread that’s all too easy to scoff in one sitting. They have some shops in Lymington, Winchester and Bishops Waltham, but the OG is here, where they make the stock for restaurants and shops.
They were brilliant, a godsend during lockdown, heaven sent treats through the dark days but they are back to normal now so are only open on Saturdays, from 9am. Get here early.
Country sourdough - soft and pliable, a crust to savour and the sourdough magic Hoxton do so well. The seeded sourdough my personal fave, the Unami flavours from the toasted seed in the crust work so well with an unhealthy slab of Président undated butter.
The Pastries - my choice would be the citrus bun in the photo.. so sharp it feels like it will cut you in half, but the just-right sugar catches you in time to enjoy the flakes of the bun. Black coffee rounds that off nicely.

Read moreRe Stockbridge branch : Lovely baking but unfortunately the sales team thought my payment hadn't gone through and requested I pay again. They indicated this was a recurrent problem. I did as requested but discovered that first payment had been taken and am now nearly £20 out of pocket. The staff in store provided me with an email to contact if problems as I don't live locally but haven't replied to my email. Hopefully they will read this review and take action.
