The Overdraught — Restaurant in St Albans

I chose The Overdraught to meet a friend for lunch because of the close proximity to where I was staying, and what a great choice it turned out to be. Because of traffic chaos, my friend was a bit late arriving, so I had a coffee. It was beautifully presented in a double glass coffee mug, and had a little jug of heated milk. When it was time to order, we both chose the Beer Battered Fish with chips and tartare sauce. The batter was something to behold, so crisp and crunchy, and it was the best fish I have had for many years. The chips were cooked perfectly, and the home made tartare sauce was perfection.
