Greggs — Restaurant in Stafford

This Greggs is hidden away — it’s to the left of the door to the main services and easily missed. Massive signs inside the main building inform the unobservant of the location of the mystery Greggs as they leave, causing them to feel foolish after they’ve wandered around inside looking for it, as I did. Honestly guys, get a big sign outside! Some people will think they imagined the Greggs and buy something else… Luckily, I was determined, and it was a good experience. Served by a polite young man, I ordered my sausage, cheese & bean bake and a latte, and was asked if I minded that the cheese & bean weren’t too warm. I didn’t. In actual fact it was warm enough and still delicious, but it was great customer service to have been given the option to make an informed choice. As I took my latte from the counter, I felt a tea bag string flapping about on my hand and realised the error. This was no problem in the slightest, and I had my replacement latte in seconds. Realising that latte costs a little more than tea, I offered to pay the extra and was told it was no problem, which was wonderful. Absolutely top notch customer service there, Greggs. Ordered a too good to go bag as I'm staying in the hotel next door, went to collect and was told there was one bag left and it wasn't mine, I showed the receipt which he tried to tell me was for a different store, which it wasn't photos attached to prove otherwise and was told to dispute it with too good to go, as I was leaving he proceeded to give what I can only describe as a banquet to 2 girls who were behind me in the queue. Hour before closing no food out . When we asked if they have any in the oven . And when asked that was met with a rude answer . Only one person out the group got food . And it’s freezing cold . Clearly cannot be bothered to make fresh stock for the last our or even fresh . Just stone cold food and a rude woman . This is a service stop and should have warm food for people on long journeys.
