This place is advertised a dog Friendly.... Leaves a sour taste in your mouth when an arrogant member of staff talks to you like a child and says there has been a complaint cos your dog has barked a few times.Very patronising member of staff and I felt belittled by him. We were paying customers as well as the people that complained in the restaurant. The lady sitting at a table next to us said that on their last visit people had complained about them feeding their dog tipbits.... Why do people who don't like dogs to to a dog friendly pub? With regards to the food... My Aunt had Gammon steak.... it was a Gammon steak with 2 eggs on the top and chips.... No peas.... no garnish.... no veg.. I had hunters chicken and that was the same just the chicken bacon and chips chucked onto a plate. The only garnish on there was a bit of lettuce that had seen better days. Needless to say this wont be going in my Dog friendly pub guide that I'm currently writing. Thanks for you reply on my trip advisor review... My dog was not making excessive noise for 40 minutes... we was only in your pub for about an hour and the last ten minutes i waited outside as u made me feel so unwelcome. Looking at all your replies to people who leave negative comments about your pub it really looks like you can't take constructive criticism... Just saying thanks for leaving a review, not sorry you have had a bad experience and trying to then explain or offer a reason as to why the customer felt they had to leave a negative review! I've worked in customer services for 20 years and if we treated our clients like you treat yours we wouldn't be as successful as we are. What a shame this pub has a manager that is patronising and doesn't give a stuff about his customers....
Read moreOver priced and underwhelming. Checked the online menu before arriving as our party is all veggie. Limited veggie options available anyway but less were listed on the venue menu when we arrived & whilst I understand some venues have had to restrict menu options recently it seemed only veggie options had been cut so less choices were available than expected. One meal had items missing and inconsistent with the menu description when it arrived and I had opted for a starter as my main which was the oven baked mushrooms which was disappointing, not very cheesy & sourdough it came with was stale. We ordered dessert and I had the crème brulé which was liquid and grainy, however it did have a little bit of a crack from the sugar topping. Also ordered was the vanilla rice pudding and the vanilla cheesecake, both listed on the venue menu as I have just stated with no further detail - you could taste the rice pudding was made with coconut milk and it also arrived topped with some sort of fruit compote - both things should be mentioned for clarity as to what to expect. The cheesecake arrived laden with a similar pile of fruit compote. I've since looked at the online menu again & can see these details present on this menu so perhaps an update of the website or venue menu or both should occur. If I could give half stars I'd maybe give two & a half stars because whilst the experience was not a great one it is really due to things that can be easily corrected if the venue...
Read moreThe 4th time we've been here. 1st time was fantastic. Very good service and all allergens explained in detail by a lovely member of staff. 2nd time was good but not as fantastic, less of the personal service. 3rd time, about 2 weeks ago wasn't as good. My partner is a celiac and we were told to "look on the website to see allergen information". It's not as if you were very busy, we were the only table for quite a while and when she did look on the website and found something that she'd like, she was told "we don't have that". Also, my gammon and eggs were pretty mundane, my aunties pie was mostly air and my partners curry looked, and had the consistency, of something from the depths of a cat. And tonight, the 4th visit, we were seated quite close to a couple of young mothers who seemed to be of the impression that it was a Wacky Warehouse. Their kids were shouting and screaming at the top of their lungs. This was extremely "triggering" for us as we'd not too long ago, given birth to our sleeping daughter. The prices in the 3 Crowns are quite high, for which you'd expect to NOT have out of control children running amok and would like a pleasant, reasonably quiet evening with good service. Also, one last point, we were charged 12 quid for 2 drinks that we didn't get to drink. Well done, you've just lost...
