popped in this morning for a coffee on the way for a hike. My husband ordered a massive bacon and sausage bap and we had 3 coffees for my husband, my sister and myself. Having dietary requirements it is sometimes quite hard for me to find anything in cafes that is suitable and i wasn’t very hungry so i grabbed a snack out of the boot of the car whilst we were waiting for our coffees and food and we sat at one of the benches on the car park. When our coffees were brought out, we all said hello and thank you to the man who brought it, but all we got was a sour look and a very aggressive slam of the cups down in the table…. then to my shock the man just glared at me and said ‘I would appreciate it if you didn’t bring your own food to my cafe!’ then he grabbed his tray and stormed off back inside ! I was gobsmacked at his attitude. I am a very reasonable and kind person and I didn’t think that having a little snack while waiting for our £16 order would be a problem. If I had been told nicely of this I would have just apologised and realised my crime, but I couldn’t believe how I was treated . There is ways of speaking to people and this was not it. I don’t think we will bother in the future, but...
Read moreA very rude owner.
I visited this cafe along with 9 other cyclists.
My friend ordered a bacon, sausage and egg bap. When it arrived the server brought 2. He said I only ordered 1. We suggest to the server to leave it, and one of us would eat it, however it was taken away.
My friend said he thought it was expensive, and that was why.
Then an angry owner came from Behind the counter and loudly said In front of other customers, “If you thought it was expensive, why didn’t you say anything when you paid for it. I’ve cooked that to order”. In fact we didn’t order it!
To be honest it was pretty embarrassing in front of other people.
I asked him what he had just said, and he replied “I’m not talking to you, I’m talking to him” Pointing at my friend.
I run several businesses and wouldn’t dream of speaking to my customers like this, especially those who have lots of potential really to return.
To be honest the bacon, sausage and egg bap did look good, however, stay away from the pasties as they are warmed in a microwave, too hot and soggy but after the first altercation we didn’t feel comfortable complaining. Several of us had complaints...
Read moreWas passing your passing by on my motorbike last Thursday a day that pleasured me with nice sunshine and then out of the blue a heavy drizzle. The weather turned quickly unto hail some the Size of marbles and then heavy snow! This was all in the space of fifteen minutes. was getting drenched and blown off course. Luckily the Flash Bar was open and I stopped for a coffee to warm up. The ladies inside were very welcoming two ladies and a sleepy lab called Indy to be precise. My choice of coffee soon turned into a leek and potatoe soup and home made lamb pie when I saw all the delights on the counter. Well what a treat that thick soup with a nice buttered roll quickly began to thaw me out. The pie that followed soon gave a nice internal glow that would keep me energised and warm on the way home. Thank you ladies for my lovely pit stop listening to sounds of the seventies, don't go breaking my heart and Indy for keeping me amused. Sorry I didn't ask your names but you...
