Amazing venue, amazing staff, amazing time!

I cannot recommend Gradbach Mill enough for a wedding. We had the most unbelievable weekend celebrating our special day. The venue was incredibly idyllic, comprising a traditional 18th-century stone mill, beautifully converted for use for weddings. It is situated close to the River Dane, in an enclosed valley surrounded by stunning hills with luscious greenery. There are plenty of useable spaces at the mill; we got married next to beautiful timber canopy by the river, played rounders and welly wanging on the rear field, and had a firepit in the orchard. The site also had plenty of space for accommodation, with rooms in the mill, a cottage to the back, and a large farmhouse.

Colin and the team at Gradbach had been absolutely super from start to finish. They were outgoing, flexible, and reliable, and catered to our every want and need. The team have cultivated a wonderfully warm and friendly atmosphere at the mill. They made sure we had no stresses on the day. The food was also phenomenal. We had a mediterranean buffet on the Friday night (which I didn’t think could be topped), followed by a selection of dreamy pies for the main meal on the day, and pizza in the evening.

We will remember our wedding weekend at Gradbach for the rest of our lives, and will be back every year to spend more time in this...

Gradbach Mill is an absolutely superb venue. Firstly, the location and the surroundings are absolutely stunning. Having received our wedding photos back, we cannot imagine a more perfect setting. Before booking Gradbach, we visited a couple of times. Colin and the team were fantastic at explaining what they offered, talking through their processes, and showing us around. We booked out the whole site for a weekend and since our wedding, our guests have invariably told us how much they loved the venue. Gradbach gave us as much flexibility with our design and decoration as we needed. They were wonderfully accommodating and understanding of our needs and vision for the wedding. They put us completely at ease and we were immediately able to trust them and relax. All the staff are friendly and highly skilled at what they do. The venue and accommodation buildings are clean and spacious, and were ideal for our requirements. Our wedding day itself couldn’t have gone more smoothly. If there were any hitches or problems, we certainly didn’t notice them. Colin especially was fantastic and was always on hand to help. If you’re considering Gradbach, we cannot recommend it more highly. Going to have a look around and informal discussion with the team is essential. Thank you Gradbach,...

Absolutely lovely place for picnics and wild swimming/paddling. Dog friendly but not pram friendly. It is a bit of a walk from the main car park so try and travel lightly and don't wear flip-flops or sliders as the path way is very gravely! Where we stopped..to the left is a very large shallow part of the river perfect for toddlers and then the bit on the photos is where we built a dam for deeper swimming. If making dams please remember to destroy them afterwards! If you travel further down the river there are even deeper parts. If not swimming then you can walk to Luds Church from here.... there are also the natural rocks to explore on the way to luds Church and a perfect place to stop with young children for an explore on the way! Just need to keep dogs on leads whilst walking through or past the cows but once past that your pooch is free to roam! WARNING - be prepared for nature as there are no toilet facilities and there are no rubbish bins so please take your rubbish back to the carpark with you where there...
