Having just returned from we thought would be the perfect Sunday lunch, I feel I have write this review We sat a lovely table by the garden patio doors, all well so far, ordered drinks and food at the same time, my food order of home made pie with chips peas and gravy, came as mash and chips, the waitress quickly took my order was to correct the issue, my wife’s small turkey Sunday lunch arrived with watery gravy, very fatty turkey and mushy veg that was obviously frozen and not fresh, Half way through my wife’s meal, my meal arrived which was chicken and tarragon pie with chips peas and gravy, .hmmm the pies pastry was beyond soggy on the bottom, the chicken was rock hard, the chips were crispy on the outside but raw on the inside, obviously frozen chips not cooked through, they tasted like the oil that they had been fried in was at least 3 months old. The gravy was just brown water and tasteless, the pepper pot was empty apart from a few hard crusts of old pepper. Needless to say we will not be going there again, which is unfortunate as it was a favourite of ours and we went there at least three times a month. I would recommend giving this place a wide...

I had a lovely lunch at this pub last week. I went with my wife and a couple who are our good friends. It was a lovely sunny day so we sat out for our meal. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. The drinks are a bit pricey; especially the non-alcoholic ones. I would have docked half a star for this, but you can't..... but to be honest, everything else was perfect.

We were served by a young lad called George when we first arrived. He took our drinks order. Without any prompting, he appeared with a bowl of water for our friends' dog which was a nice touch. George was attentive throughout our meal without being obtrusive. He was really friendly and seemed happy in his work.

The food was excellent. I had a delicious home made steak pudding. I couldn't quite eat it all but I gave it a good go. My wife's scampi was tasty.

We have been a few times now and really enjoyed it. On our previous visit we spoke to the lady who runs the pub who is also the chef. She is really nice and friendly. She is passionate about good customer service and good food. I definitely recommend this pub for a friendly welcome and hearty, homemade food. The location is...

Regular visitor to the Devy, but would never return after service or lack of we received today.

My family and I went and enquired if they had any availability prior to decamping from the car, we were told they did. Great! After being seated we spent the next 30 minutes being avoided by the staff as though someone had told them we had Monkeypox.

It was only after trying to order at the bar that we were told we were not allowed to order yet as they had pre booked tables due in that had to take priority over us. Never heard anything like it.

When we enquired when we would be allowed to order we were told “don’t know 10-15 minutes, we have another table due in shortly that have to take priority”

Being treated like second class citizens when trying to spend money in a local establishment wasn’t on my bingo card for today, and visiting this pub won’t ever be on my bingo card in the future.

Shocking way to treat customers, most appalling service I’ve ever experienced. Would recommend to anyone reading this review to visit other establishments in the area: The Oddfellows, The Little Mill Inn,...

Lovely classic pub scene, however 3 mistakes made with the food left me not actually eating a single thing. They first took our order, 20 minutes later arrived to tell us that the selected starter was now out of stock and threw a menu at me and said pick another, I chose to not go for an alternative choice, then the main course came. It was the wrong main course option. They then removed the meal and brought back the correct meal however the presentation was below acceptable. (Picture attached) Left having to eat separately to my partner. Shame overall as I have been before and enjoyed the service and food, but would not recommend after this one visit. We booked two months in advance and was only for a table of two. Therefore I’m sure more difficult to make a single mistake rather than three. At no point did a senior manager/ member of the team speak to us. Poor practice over all.

Spacious and cosy environment. Attentive, friendly staff. Very fast service. Food looks lovely but my burger and chips disappointing. Tasted like a big ball of chewy mince meat left in juices until brown and sour. No flavours. Chips hand cut but overdone on outside bit raw in inside and oily. Huge pile of red lettuce and soggy coleslaw. Salt Pepper Squid starter big chunks caked in thick batter and over cooked a little chewy. Pie and Steak Pudding much much better. Monk fish smelled like we are not by the sea. Pasta wolfed down with no complaints. Robbies beer a bit Meh and outdated regardless of citra hops.. Quality chocolate torte and B&B pudding very nice. Above average pub grub that looks more gastro than it tastes.

I visited The Devonshire Arms with some friends. As we arrived, we looked at the amazing architectural of the building inside and put. It looked amazing. As we entered the staff asked us if we had precooked, unfortunately we didn't but they looked and managed to get a table free for us. We all Ordered Cappuccino to drink and a varierty of foods. The service was quick and efficient. The food was amazing and tasted great. I'm sure we shall be visiting again soon. Compliments to the chef and kitchen team. Compliments to bar staff and team for there swift work. Thank you, Aaron.
