I had a lovely lunch at this pub last week. I went with my wife and a couple who are our good friends. It was a lovely sunny day so we sat out for our meal. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. The drinks are a bit pricey; especially the non-alcoholic ones. I would have docked half a star for this, but you can't..... but to be honest, everything else was perfect.

We were served by a young lad called George when we first arrived. He took our drinks order. Without any prompting, he appeared with a bowl of water for our friends' dog which was a nice touch. George was attentive throughout our meal without being obtrusive. He was really friendly and seemed happy in his work.

The food was excellent. I had a delicious home made steak pudding. I couldn't quite eat it all but I gave it a good go. My wife's scampi was tasty.

We have been a few times now and really enjoyed it. On our previous visit we spoke to the lady who runs the pub who is also the chef. She is really nice and friendly. She is passionate about good customer service and good food. I definitely recommend this pub for a friendly welcome and hearty, homemade food. The location is very nice too.
