Came in this evening with my partner and was made to feel so uncomfortable by the staff member behind the bar never caught her name but a lady with pink/redish hair. My partner went and asked for the darts and she was infuriated as we had over heard the conversation between what I assume is the manager and this lady and he stood and called her a retard luckily there were only 2/3 people in as that is quite an offensive statement to make. I then went and asked what time food was shut off and if they were still serving to which she stormed into the kitchen and shrugged her shoulders at me and told me we’re not serving which is fair enough as it was around half 9 but the attitude was awful. Me and my partner then got the darts and was playing in an empty pub to which she shouted over the bar at us are you having another drink! Gobsmacked I were but still we each had another half and we were basically pushed out of the door at 20 to 10 so sat in the garden with our drinks and as I looked through the window I saw the bar maid playing pool with her friends. I work in the same industry so I understand the good and bad days but this was out of order. The only positive thing I have to say is the menu looks delicious so I will be in to try that and hopefully the manager has a strong word with this girl as that’s no way to treat...

I have enjoyed going here in the past when it was a steakhouse however the last visit was disappointing. Twice the waitress returned to the table to inform us of a choice not being available. (Quite a while after ordering) First time no chicken for the hunters chicken and then after a 25 min wait another visit to tell us no blue cheese for the burger. (Which then later also come with no black pudding either and a rock hard bun) so in theory just a rock solid plain burger….

The food was average at best and every plate piping hot on arrival to the touch so I imagine it was either sat for a long time on a hot plate or blasted in a microwave before serving. It’s sad to see these issues so soon after a reopening. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll risk returning as this was a night where there were only 3 tables in service so wouldn’t risk a busy day.

The waitress who served us was lovely and apologised and did take the burger off the bill however the night was very flat after people either couldn’t have what they ordered and didn’t get what they ordered.

On a positive note, the pizzas I saw other people have did...

ordered the 12oz sirloin and was presented with what looked like a nice meal, however looks can be deceiving. the first thing I noted was the beer battered onion rings where overcooked and hard, the mushrooms were also hard. the dressing salad was just a few leaves with some balsamic sauce and they were ok. the homesdw fries were also quiet nice. The Steak... it looked ok. a little seared on the outside maybe, the problem was with the taste and colour of the cut, I cant quite place the issue but it wasnt as expected, the colour was a little off, still medium rare but didn't taste so, tlit sort of tastd and looked like a pork steak (it wasnt). the venue it self was spotless and the staff were friendly enough. I would advise you try this one for yourself but unfortunately it's not on my return list. another nitpick although its minor was they served my coke in a cider glass...

parking is available and the restaurant is part of a pub however it is segregated and has it's...

Wow! Hubby and I are both quite local to this place, but even he mentioned that he hadn't been inside this building for over 30 years!! We definitely won't be leaving it that long for the next visit. VERY impressed with the whole visit from start to finish. A lovely warm welcome from Ashleigh, plus she took the time to talk to us at our table. All the staff are very polite and extremely friendly, whilst maintaining a high level of service and professionalism. They all spoke so clearly and concisely... this really does put the visitor at ease, as (subconsciously) you know your meal is going to arrive exactly as you ordered (no misunderstandings/ miscommunications like other food outlets where clarity may not be at the top of the customer service list). Lovely relaxed decor, with a shabby-chic feel. Anyway, superb quality steaks, cooked perfectly. Followed by sticky toffee pudding to absolutely die for. Can't wait to visit again. We'll take our daughter and her fella next time :-)

The Saracens head steak house was so lovely, for a pub and steak house it's so nice. The staff were really polite and the lady was always there to help in any way at all. It's a pub where you could go for a meal with the family and then make a night of it, the larger is tasty and cheap and it's one of the cleanest pubs/place's to eat I've been in a long time. This is a place I would definitely go to again and my mum really enjoyed it a lot and had a good time there tonight. People you must give the SARACENS HEAD STEAK HOUSE IN MEIR ON SANDON ROAD A GO YOU'LL LOVE TYE DRINK/FOOD AND THE STAFF AND CUSTOMER'S ARE ALL VERY POLITE.
