I dined here with my husband and aunt for Sunday lunch. Upon arriving, we were wowed by the venue itself, set in beautiful countryside with a river, plenty of parking and outdoor seating. You enter through an impressive glass, apex roofed entrance and are greeted by a friendly team member who seated us in one of the many unique dining areas. The décor is country chic, seamlessly blending tradition with modernity. Our drinks orders were promptly taken and the server was very pleasant. We order two white wine spritzers and a beer, with a bottle of water for the table. The menu is diverse, different and has something for everyone from fish lovers to vegan. For starters, I had the crab, my husband had the poached salmon Caesar, and my aunt had the fried brie. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the crab as there wasn't a huge amount on the plate, and I found some shell. However, both the other starters were highly praised, especially the chutney that came with the brie, and the generous helping of salmon. The atmosphere was comfortable with a the hum of chitter chat in the background but not overly noisy so you could easily chat with one another. The server left a sufficient amount of time before bringing the mains, and was attentive in asking whether we wanted any more drinks or accompaniments. For main, I had the sticky beef salad, and the others had a beef roast. I was very impressed with my main, there was plenty of food, the chilli sauce was not too spicy, and the salad was fresh. The roast was also complimented both on the portion size, cooking of the beef, and the trimmings. Once again, nothing was too much trouble as our server was kind enough to bring additional gravy. To finish, I had the Pimm's jelly, my husband the chocolate brownie, and my aunt the peach and raspberry sundae. The dessert was my favourite course, the champagne sorbet complimented the Pimm's jelly perfectly and it was ideal for a hot Summer's day. I'm told the brownie was rich and decadent, and the sundae was fresh and tasty, but could have done with more meringue. We finished with coffees which were served with a mini flapjack, which I thought was a nice touch. We asked for the bill and for 3x three courses, including wines, beers, and coffees, it only came to £148 and was worth every penny. I've been very impressed and look forward to returning in the...
Read moreContinuing the B&P trend, I decided to pop to the Arrow Mill for lunch. As you drive down the long path towards the pub tucked away opposite the Ragley Hall estate with that riverside view across the whole pub. It doubles up as a hotel for that peaceful getaway. Plenty of parking and tables were avaliable on what was a mild Bank Holiday Monday. Entering the venue, it just looks gorgeous inside and out with the mix of modern and vintage decor on another level. The lighting choices, plentiful wall art and bookcases gives it that good balance and a good old wood fireplace for that relaxing experience. A host saw me immediately at the host station and showed me to my table. As it was bank holiday Monday, they served Sunday Roasts too on this occasion which I had to opt for. Today I had the following:
Starter - Satay Pork Bao Bun Bao Buns are one of my favourite nibbles to have. This was very well presented on the plate and the pork filled the Bao Bun up to the brim. It had such a succulent flavour to it and the Bao Bun was fluffy and warm. A lovely way to start the meal off. It came within 15 minutes of me ordering it.
Main - Roast Loin of Pork Sunday Roast All the trimmings. Potatoes. Gravy. Can't go wrong really with this traditional favourite. The pork was so tender it was easy to break off and had a strong flavour to it. The potatoes were well cooked and a good colour. Seasonal Veg and the rest of it was great. The gravy was nice and thick. A lovely roast overall
Dessert - Cheshire Farm Ice Cream I opted for vanilla, honeycomb and raspberry ripple. This brand of ice cream is known for its richness and UK made branding using local ingredients. As such, it has a nice smooth creamy texture to it. It was lovely.
Overall I would definitely visit again. Staff were warm and friendly throughout. Clean and tidy...

BEYOND DISAPPOINTING, mis-described rooms, terrible service and way overpriced for what is offered. I would give it Zero Stars if I could.
The Sunday morning, we came down for breakfast and stood for over 5 minutes at the sign….that says ‘ Please wait to be seated’ no one seated us as there were no staff to greet us. We decided to just take a seat at a used table as that was the only 2 table available the rest were laid for 6 people. Again, sat for well over 5 minutes, so I got up and walked around to find a member of staff in the office and asked would it possible to get a Coffee please, yes 2 minutes someone will be with you!! The waiter didn’t even know what a Latte Macchiato was, I literally have no words.
Another issue was a 10.00am check out on a weekend, breakfast is on until 10.00am, most hotels on a weekend offer check out until midday on a weekend and also offer a later breakfast but not here.
It was just one thing after the other, it was our anniversary and we had both been working really hard and my father had also passed away days before so this weekend getaway was supposed to be relaxing and an escape. It is the worst place I have ever stayed, overpriced, arrogant, untrained, Rude Staff and we will NEVER return.
When we checked out no one even asked us if we had even enjoyed our stay, maybe they already knew the answer and didn’t much care as they had earnt a lot of money out of us, a two night stay with food and drinks we spent over £780.00 with them, and not even an apology. We could have stayed 3 nights in a Suite at the Malmaison in Birmingham with Champagne the works.
We know where we will stay next time, will NEVER...
