Really great pub, glad we found it, definitely worth the visit. Was in the area and this place had good reviews and food looked good in the pics. We had a beef burger and a chicken burger and some cheesy garlic bread - all really good but the chicken burger was the star of the show. A whole butterfly fillet too, amazingly tasty and light coating. 100% recommend.

What a beautiful pub, food was fantastic ( chef, I haven't had chips as fantastic as these were today since I was a kid and mum made her own !), The staff were incredible, so accommodating happy to converse with us ( no monosyllabic staff here ! ) The inside of the pub was gorgeous, warm , old country styling and cosy. Will most definitely go there again.

In the village of Lighthorne, the Antelope is a unique village country pub, with traditional character bar and dining areas, including an open fire. 4 different outdoor seating sections, even a large Moroccan style tent. Menu is good value, particularly Sunday lunch. Pizzas are a speciality, with 2 for 1 on a Tuesday night.

My partner and I have been to The Antelope in the past and enjoyed it. This time round we went on a Tuesday night. It was quiet, with no staff member in sight. We waited 10 minutes for someone to finally serve us at the bar. We told them we had booked a table and our drinks order was taken promptly. We were sat in the restaurant area, where we have sat before. Unfortunately, this time round it was not a pleasant experience. We could hear what sounded like a teenager’s house party coming from the kitchen, with awful language being thrown around between rowdy members of staff and music blaring. I ordered the beef burger with bacon and my partner ordered the BBQ pizza. The burger was incredibly bland, which is a shame as, in the past, it has been delicious. They also forgot to add the bacon. When we reminded them, the chef had clearly slapped a few undercooked slices of bacon into a tray. My partner enjoyed his pizza however. No one came to check on us and ask how our food was, so we both decided that we wanted to get out as quick as possible and didn’t order dessert. Also, we saw one member of staff come out of the kitchen and into the restaurant in what appeared to be a football kit? It just seemed so unprofessional and chaotic. I don’t know if The Antelope has changed owners, but it has really gone downhill. Unprofessional staff and food was nothing special. Please sort...

As it is very local to us and we haven’t been before despite knowing lots of people who do. We went for my husbands birthday lunch as a treat. We had been out earlier in the week to another fairly local pub. The comparison of the 2 there is no contest!! On arriving we were greeted by the bar maid who showed us a table in the corner next to the toilet door! On going over there was only one chair my husband had to carry another over. We had to help ourselves to some scrappy menus on a side table. We both ordered the fish and chips with a side order of onion rings each. The onion rings arrived first in bowls that looked like they had seen better days all chipped metal. The onions rings had too much thick batter and were burnt. The fish and chips arrived and the fish was the same burnt batter. The meal wasn’t hot and as you were eating the batter became greasier and the fish crumbled with no flavour. I managed one onion ring. We both gave up half way through the meal it was tasteless and greasy. The staff member collected the plates and herself commented that the onion rings were overdone!! Why did the chef allow this to leave the kitchen!! We paid for the meal and the onion rings were deducted from the cost. Never...

We chose this pub because of the fab reviews but was sadly disappointed, on arrival we was unsure where to go to find our table that had been booked, 2staff members passed us & did not stop to ask if we needed any help,we ordered the roast beef & lamb Sunday roast we had a long wait after ordering our meal which is always a worry when the pub is not too busy the meal eventually arrived & when we tryed it it was stone cold not a sign of any staff nobody came to ask how our meal was we had received one small dish of vegetable barely enough for 2 people when the waitress came out to collect our plates she asked how our meal was & i let her know it was cold she spoke to the chef who she said apologized, no complementary drinks i went to pay & there was no sign of staff after 10min someone appeared he also asked how our meal was i told him the same then he said sorry & gave me the bill & on the machine he asked if i wanted to tip what an insult we wont be returning there in a hurry at nearly...
