Very good value... often looks like they are being tight with the meat, but in fact when you actually eat it you find there is plenty enough. You can upgrade to larger portions for £1.50, that gives you a bigger plate with more meat and an extra Yorkshire pudding and sausage. Sundays are probably best avoided, it’s chaos! Price is a bit more too. On the plus side, they seem to have the option of roast lamb on a Sunday. Waited 25 minutes for desert, then thought I’d best politely ask what the wait time was likely to be. Girl investigated in the kitchen... came back with deserts (all ice cream based) and they had melted. I’m guessing they had been sat there a long time. The brownie I had in my sundae was hard. I’m guessing may have been past best. I mentioned they were melted, all I got was a ‘sorry!’ They weren’t really what you’d expect, melted ice cream.

Came from Australia and picked this place as I was departing before the Sunday for a traditional British lunch! Arrived all seemed ok but how wrong was this to be! Went to front desk and spoke to the venue manager who was not naturally English speaking but was a little hard to understand and communicate. This is not ideal when dealing with a service focused venue engaging with members of the public. Pretty sure this guy was Bruno Viana! Bruno advised yesterday that they had been busy and would be able to fit me and my guest in at 130pm and it was 1250pm which was cool. Having travelled from the other side of the world I was feeling sore and back was not ideal from standing. Having booked I took seat nearby to wait for my guest and as a first meet didn’t know what they looked like and had no contact number for them. I advised my guest would wait at the entrance so hence grabbed a seat between four empty tables of 12. Bruno became rude and aggressive and while talking with him he turned his back on me three times! Also just looked at me blankly numerous times like I was an idiot! Aside from this the staff seemed stressed and under staffed and looked at me multiples times while stood at the bar and rather say to me seen you coming etc. Just ignored numerous times and just carried as they wished this was consistent with Bruno and his team all did it! This was not just me it was multiple guests that I seen this happen too at the bar and even the carvery front desk! They simply didn’t care and would look through you multiple times like you a ghost! Toby Carvery your brand is strong and the carvery is quality though the yorkies rock hard couldn’t cut them with the knive! These employees seriously seriously let you down in fact would go as far to say they are in the wrong industry! Time to send in some secret customers and see what I am saying!

Absolutely appalling! Travelled down from Wales to see daughter who's working at Royal Surrey hospital. Didn't book as I know dogs are not allowed inside. Loads of tables outside with just 2 occupied. Went in to order 3 veggie carveries and was told "can't eat in garden" - what's the point of all the tables then? We'd have brought plates back in if required. Very very disappointed with the lack of service and would not recommend you go to a public house and carvery that refuses to sell food to eat in their own garden. They were doing deliveries via services such as deliveroo, I suggested I order a deliveroo to eat in garden but guess what? Not allowed! I suppose I could have eaten in car but why would I want to give them my money. My advice go to the White Hart down the road instead

If you fancy eating scraps off the table then this place might be for you. If you fancy getting what you paid for (approx £20 for a carvery) then you will be very disappointed. We ordered through deliveroo expecting a nice Sunday carvery but we deeply disappointed when the food arrived. We ordered the meat carvery that according to their menu includes 4 cuts of meat. We ended up getting only 3 of the 4 and on top of that one of our portions had 3 scraps off beef no bigger that the blade of our butter knife. I don't understand how a chef could even prepare a meal like this. Surely you see what goes out? We also ordered a chocolate cake. It ended up in the rubbish bin as it had a very potent chemical taste. Overall, would not recommend or order/eat there again.
