❓ Have you Tried.. 👉 Magic Pizza 📍 16 Mottram Rd, Stalybridge SK15 3AD
Decided it was pizza time and to be honest I had kind of given up on good pizza as it always leaves me disappointed. (This is not going to change from here).
Upon entering the shop it was very clean and bright. It was empty so I was served straight away, the guy was pleasant enough but conversation was not happening, they seemed to have a few orders going on and we're busy preparing food.
They had a tv on the wall playing deep house music videos which were great to keep you occupied while they were cooking away.
🔶10" Margarita Pizza
I took my #pizza and went home, this pizza looked nice and you can see from the photo it has that signature stringy cheese which you always see advertised in the big leagues.
The base was soft and thin, the crust was almost non existent. It didn't have any taste to this base. The cheese although it looked the part and was well distributed it was really greasy and very bland. 😔
The sauce had a rich BBQ taste and it was very sickly. Although the pizza was only small after just half of it I was having enough of eating it from the bland greasy cheese and the sickly sweet sauce. I did not enjoy any part of this pizza at all.
🏆4/10
Overall the shop and service was good and the pizza was hot and made fresh in front of me but all the key components that make a great pizza were not there. I would not recommend this pizza and I would not return. Maybe they have other options that are...
Read moreI’ll start this review by saying congratulations! I usually order from here maybe once every 18 months as I always found the pizzas used too much cheddar cheese and not enough mozzarella and this made them greasy. The kebabs used to be a 5/10.
Thought I’d try a kebab tonight as I had noticed when passing they had refurbished the inside and reduced their opening times so the takeaway could have new owners.
I ordered a mixed kebab which included doner, chicken and Shish with hot chilli sauce. What a difference! The doner meat didn’t have that cheap flavour to it and was a huge improvement on what they previously served, the chicken was moist and had that ‘charcoal grill’ flavour to it, the chilli sauce was similar to that served at Hawkins in that it was very tomato flavoured but lacked spice. The Nan bread was store bought so not brilliant but the star of the show was the shish.
It was up there with the best shish I’ve eaten as it was a generous portion but moist and simply melted in your mouth. It was that delicious.
For a score, the quality and quantity of the shish raises it from a 4 star to a 5 star. The cost, including delivery was £13.15 so it’s competitive with other takeaways and due to the improvements made, I shall now add this place to my approved list of go to places for kebabs.
Over all, a 100% improvement on the previous kebabs they used...
Read moreThe Garlic Bread has always been decent, the Pizzas average, but the kebabs awful - cheapest donner meat I've ever seen - never seen grey donner meat before. Delivery has always taken at least an hour. A couple of weeks ago, I placed an order and waited...
After 90 mins, I rang up and got told it would be coming in 10 mins.
Another 90 mins later, I called back... "Have you still not had it? I'll phone you back in 10 minutes". 20 Minutes later, no phone call. I tried calling again 3 times but they wouldn't answer.
I sent an email asking for my money back as the order never came (it was only a pizza and a wrap). No reply. I went into the shop a week ago and spoke to the manager who appeared to know nothing about it. He said he'd issue a refund via the website payment, but nothing has been forthcoming, so I've had to claim it back through my credit card company.
There's no shortage of places selling pizza, so no reason to deal with businesses who take your money and don't...
