Priory Farm Garden Room Café is a little sanctuary of good food, great people, and wonderful atmosphere.
I came to visit last Friday and had some lunch whilst working remotely. I ordered the chicken burger and some tater tots - it was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. You can tell the food here is made with quality ingredients and a lot of care. Sitting outside surrounded by the peaceful garden setting was such a treat.
Abi, the manager, is an absolute credit to the place. Warm, friendly, and clearly passionate about what she does, she makes every guest feel genuinely welcome. Her attention to detail and lovely nature really set the tone for the rest of the team. The service was great too - friendly, relaxed, and just the right balance of attentiveness without ever feeling rushed.
The only small downside was the lack of wi-fi. As someone who often likes to work remotely, it would be such a bonus to have a reliable connection while enjoying a coffee and bite to eat in such a lovely environment - fingers crossed that’s something that might be added in the future.
All in all, it was a genuinely lovely visit. Big thanks to the manager and the team for creating such a welcoming and enjoyable place. Can’t...
Read moreI used to come to the garden centre regularly for the baby sensory classes and always got lunch in the cafe and highly rated it. We came back today to do the Discovery Land walk and lunch. I was horrified to see the changes to the cafe. It was loud, over crowded and chaotic. Service was appalling. It took over an hour to get a hot chocolate and coffee, which is completely unacceptable. Our food order arrived after about 45 minutes and we were told our drinks were just coming. They didn’t arrive until well after we had finished eating. There were far too many customers and orders for the handful of staff, and so the water, napkins etc kept running out and they were too rushed to notice. There was no warning upon ordering that there was a long wait. Overall poorly managed and would not spend...
Read moreThis place is beautiful! Loads todo for the kids and each season the walk is themed. (Ticketed). It took us about an hour, so will definitely tire out little legs! Buggy friendly even if a bit bumpy in parts. Food in the cafe is expensive for what you get (the breakfast pictured was £11.50! But you are a captured audience so... ) There are picnic benches by the lake so a picnic in the warmer months may be a better shout.
When we went it was really busy but that didn't matter, it's really well run, plenty of space and didn't feel over crowded even though the car park was full to the max.
Standard garden centre and a farm shop too - prices as you would expect.
But all in all a really lovely day out for the...
