Shades of past and improvements too. The service is attentive if slow. There is no doubt that, at times they had to be reminded of things, not least the tap water. Mains were generally well received, although my broccoli was very crunchy (?uncooked). Not a huge fan of the veg though partner loved it. My potatoes were not as crispy as I woukd like. Desserts were generally well received though my pavlova was one heavy solid non aerated lump, very hard to eat with just a spoon It looked very pretty but delivered reasonably on flavour, but texture was far too solid. Staff pleasant, toilets well presented by a bit aromatic for me. Overall, nice building, pleasant staff mostly good. My real concern is that there are issues of a similar nature on trip advisor identified from 2012, responses from management recognising it but sadly they seem to continue.

1st time there but my friend has been a few times. We got the Xmas feast 3 courses and weren't disappointed (though parsnips could be cooked a little longer ). The Turkey which I don't usually have was so moist it melted in your mouth. Try the Scallops and Prawn the jus was so tasty ( especially when I pinched 1 of my friend's finger toast ). The Xmas pudding and sauce was perfect to finish off and they gave enough time to let you digest each course. Teresa our server was so friendly and funny. It made my experience even better. I bought 2 extra Turkey dinners to take away and the recipients said they really liked them. So well done to the Chef and team. I live too far away now.but next time I'm up visiting my friend we'll be back. Sorry no photo of the scallops and prawns or mushrooms.

My time at the Harrow Inn was exceptional! I had dinner there for a special occasion, the lamb (pictured) was absolutely unreal and a highlight of the evening! Cooked exactly as I had requested, with a rich gravy, and a gratin dauphinois that added a lovely creamy contrast to the dish. My pints were also poured very nicely, and the whole meal was reasonably priced. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, with a warming decor, tying the experience together for a cosy atmosphere! As for the facilities, no complaints there; bathrooms were very clean, plenty of space in the car park, and the WiFi worked without a hitch. Overall, I will definitely be back next time that I'm in the area! And may I suggest you do the same!!

Really disappointing from the beginning, we were sat at a table that was very sticky and not really ideal. Our table of 4 was the only one occupied in the whole place and yet the bartender forgot the soda in my wine spritzer, no water on table - had to remind them twice (we ordered the water when we ordered our meal) Starters (mushrooms, calamari x2 & garlic king prawns) were really slow in arriving. They were good. Main meal took forever to arrive. Tbh another 2 parties arrived (1 x 5 & 1 x 3)in the time it took our meals to arrive. 1 x 5 party got their starters before we got our meals. J2O bottles arrived without being shaken but already opened so difficult to shake to mix. 2 main meals arrived to our table with a significant delay with the other 2 meals arriving. Fish n chips (fab), pizza (great), pork belly (good) & sea bass (totally over cooked and quite frankly nasty). Upon returning the sea bass to server they returned from the kitchen holding the plate relaying a question from the chef “What part of the fish did you find over cooked?”. Really rude and disrespectful. The fish was wafer thin and yet difficult to cut. It didn’t flake and tasted really dry and flavourless (apart from the taste of burnt skin). Totally ruined the atmosphere. Staff were waiting and chatting in the bar area when nothing to do, whilst we’d stacked our finished dishes on our table. Service was decently friendly but just so slow. We ordered a latte, sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. The latte was hot, served in a tall, handle less glass. So you were unable to hold the glass to drink!! We had to request a china handled cup or some straws it was quite ridiculous. The sticky toffee pudding was good but you could tell it had been warmed in the microwave and therefore didn’t warrant the delay in delivery. Ice cream was ice cream! Overall quite disappointed and will never be returning, especially as we were served by a so-called supervisor who also managed to trip over a chair and drop an implement while attempting to clear the table. Honestly not happy and hope the chef learns the ability to take constructive criticism instead of asking the front of house team to bring back the complained dish and quiz them on what...

Booked a lunch today for 13:00. We arrived on time and sat outside, with the dog. My son went inside to book in and had to wait for the 4/5 staff, who were standing around the bar to finish their social chat with one another, before he was acknowledged. A short time later my daughter went inside to ask for menus and was told 'they're outside in the shed', at which all the staff standing around her laughed at her calling the area a shed! Finally when my son went back inside to order some food, the rabble of staff were still standing by the bar chatting, it was as if we were disturbing them to take our order. This is where it went from the sublime to the insane - no food could be ordered for the area we were sitting at. Finally, I went inside and unbelievably, the staff were still, as my children had described standing around the bar having a chat with one another, as if they were on a lunch out themselves. When I asked Nikki , who described herself as the manager why we couldn't order food in this area, she abruptly shrugged her shoulders, like a bad tempered child and said 'it's about staff capacity, we don't have the staff to serve around there, we never have had'. Which was both bizarre and ironic seeing as so many of them were gathered around the bar having a chat. I asked for her name and she shoved a piece of paper, with NIKKI written in capital letters, an indication of how angry she was, on it, at me. Our family live in the area and have being going to the Harrow for many years. We have never come across such rude insolent people as we did today, needless to say we won’t be back and wouldn't recommend anyone else to go either until staff have some training on customer relations. There are many other restaurants/pubs in the area that are happy to receive our custom, which...

Firstly the waitress we had was so lovely and we felt very sorry for her as she had the unfortunate job of telling people how much of the menu was unavailable!!!! And we would like to say a big thank you to her as she was very helpful! We have just come back from a Mothers Day dinner, disappointing to say the least, we arrived a bit early before our table booking (6:30pm), and ordered drinks from the bar, we were stood looking at the menu and at no point while stood there were we told that two starters and both the roast dinners they had run out of! It’s Mother’s Day!!!!! We had to pay a £5 deposit per head to book so you’d KNOW how many people you were roughly going to cater for! I appreciate you don’t want food waste but to run out of two out of three meats at 6:30pm on Mothering Sunday is not really acceptable!! We are aware on the website it said that menu could potentially have items that were unavailable but there’s a difference between unavailable and ‘run out of’!!! To add insult to injury, the table that arrived at 8:30pm were offered the two starters that we were told they didn’t have, so had obviously managed to defrost it in time to serve them! We laughed as the dessert arrived, eye spy the custard! Mushrooms to start were bland, food ok in general, managed to negotiate with the manager to get the surcharge knocked off the steak as all the things we wanted to order they didn’t have, but his attitude seemed to suggest there was no issue with not having a full menu on Mother’s Day at 6:30pm! Then conveniently ‘forgot’ about the £5 per head to knock off the bill, nifty trick to gain a bit as I wonder how many people had forgotten!! Such a shame for a...
