Went here for a meal last night with some old friends. Picked the Castle Inn at the recommendation of locals who live in the village. (although I suspected before going that they were biased) It was a lovely meal and a delightful experience. The main courses were all excellent. The steak was actually cooked perfectly to what we'd asked for and was marvellous. The ladies had a salad and a pasta dish, both lovely presentation and delicious. For desert, I had treacle and pecan tart with clotted cream. It was one of, if not the best desert I've ever had. It looked stunning, and had a balance of taste and texture that I've rarely experienced elsewhere. Not only that, but we all tasted each others deserts and the others claimed theirs was better. Read moreWe had walked around the great coastal walk to this pub at the top of the hill, looking forward to food and drink when we got there. We arrived a little early before opening time at 6pm but a lovely lady, now know her name is Norma, let us 10 mins before and even allowed us a drink and to browse the menu before opening time. What a lovely welcome.
